Foongus: Timid and cowardly, you met him at age 7 when foraging for food. You thought he was a Pokeball due to hunger and he ended up crying due to being afraid. You gave him a last morsel of food to calm him down and he followed you into the city. Now your bros for life. He's more brave during battles as long as its not TOO rough.

Castform:
Was met a few months after Foongus. Some faggot with green hair saw you looking for shelter in the rain and offered you Castform to turn the days sunny after "hearing the voice of your Foongus...you meet weirdos amongst the homeless. It worked too! He gave you your original 6 Pokeballs too as means of apology for not being able to do more. You never saw him again. Castform is chipper and sunny! Which is odd given how much he feels like a bag full of water. He always tries to cheer you up! He is pretty bad at battles compared to the rest of your team. He lacks the "killer instincts" but he's loyal!

Croagunk:
A spacey chill Pokemon you met him during training Castform and Foongus. You tried to battle him but he kind of just...laid on his back. You tried catching him and it worked. Then when a wild Purrlion tried to steal the berries you scrounged up he Low Kicked the fuck out of it and sent it running for the hills. He seems...odd. Very much at his own tempo and logic. You haven't exactly figured it out yet but he's still a loyal companion.

Flew into town after a particularly bad storm hit through the desert region. Which happens from time to time. You rescued him from being stuck in a tree and he joined you in gratitude. He's the most protective and on guard of your Pokemon. His Whirlwind attack has kept wild pokemon at bay and Hypnosis has kept would be scroungers from taking your shit.

A sweetheart Pokemon who loves to fuss over you being clean. Was met as an Azurill who smelled Foongus' Sweet Scent and tried to suck on its head only to find a lack of nectar. You tried to fight it but oddly Foongus' grass type attacks did nothing. Clear Smog however knocked her out in one shot. She was a bit slow to befriend but she came around once you shared a soda you found. Has a huge sweet tooth and uses Water Gun to keep you clean. Unfortunately Water Gun doesn't make for good drinking water. She fusses over you appearance too making sure your clothes don't look TOO scraggly even though your wearing donated clothing. Evolved one day after successfully knocking out a wild pokemon.

"Kiryu" and Amon step into an arena. Its makeshift and not necessarily the best looking but its big and expansive. Bleachers and stands surround it with a betting station for adults to bet on competitors.
"Okay. So you got Castform, Croagunk and Darmanitan. I'll lead with Lurantis and keep Comfey and Sableye on standby for this first battle. I received a movelist. Lurantis seems focused on melee combat and healing itself with Mega Drain. For the first battle I just wanna see how you handle yourself in a double battle. Afterwards, I am gonna be a supporter and basically let you go two on one for the other Pokemon. That sound ok with you?" Asked "Kiryu".

Enough room to move around in. The two other competitors are a 12 year old and his dad respectively. They seem like tourists. An announcer speaks up. "Thank you for your patience! The Battle Carnival 3 o clock tournament is underway! All participants will recieve special tickets based on their performance and how long they can last. These battles are informal but we do take them seriously so we ask that you give a hearty cheer for our competitors!" The audience begins to awaken and give a friendly clap and cheer. "Here we go on the first battle. Amon and Kiryu vs Arnold and Sampson. Let's begin!" You throw your Pokeball. "Go Castform!" Castform comes out eager to please. "Go Sableye!" "Kiryu" sends out Sableye. "Wait a sec!" Amon retorts. "Kiryu" grins. "I said prepare for the unexpected. Now get ready! Here they come!" The Dad(presumably Sampson) tosses his Pokeball. "Go Pidgeotto!" The son(presumably Arnold) sends out his. "Go Growlithe!" And sends out a Growlithe. "Oh! I forgot to mention. Its one pokemon per round. So your locked in with Castform." "Kiryu" said. "I'm glad its a fire type. A good excuse to practice Rain Dance." Kiryu says rubbing his hands together.

I often use the rental Pokemon to try my hand at using new Pokemon with different movesets then my base team." The Dad calls out. "Pidgeotto use Gust!" Pidgeotto flaps it's wings at Castform and tries to get it to fall to the ground.

Growlithe runs at Sableye with electrical fangs. "Dodge if you can Sableye! Amon keep trying to get Castform to do Rain Dance. Try to help it think rainy thoughts." "Kiryu" suggests. Sableye tries to dodge manages to get its head out of the way due its unshackled movements but Growlithe manages to get its arm. "Aw damn it."

"Winners are Kiryu and Amon!" The ref says. "Nice. Good stuff Amon." Kiryu says.

"Hey at least it doesn't miss." "Kiryu" says. "Stunfisk use Water Gun! Wash out Kadabra's eyes!" Stunfisk shoots out a stream of water from it's mouth and washes out Kadabra's eyes. "Geez you guys are ruthless. Calm down." Kadabra's trainer says. "Kadabra use Confusion!" Croagunk gets picked up and tossed to the ground.

Kadabra creates a barrier of energy blocking itself from the massive amount of lightning strikes that Stunfisk shoots out. But Comfey and Croagunk get hit hard. "Dang it. Comfey use Floral Healing on Croagunk. In an insant, a flash of light hits Croagunk and energy shaped like flowers spread out from Croagunk's body healing it's damage. "Comfey's Triage Ability turns any healing type move to an instant move. It can even outspeed Extremespeed!" "Kiryu" says.
