The scent of burning timber, the smell of burning iron. The traitorous scent of rebellion steep within the night air. The acolytes warned them to pay tribute, and make way for your arrival. But it seems this backwater village, Trenton... It knows not its place in the world.

The wind bristles through your plumage, tickling you, as you can hardly contain an overwhelming glee. It is oft considered a waste of labor to devour the apes. Poorly sporting. But tonight is different. As the wintery breath of decay looms on your breath ready to melt death upon them, you wonder if complete annihilation would be perhaps too uncharitable? You can see every moving deer in the forest, every bear, and wolf so tiny, you could snatch and eat them all, but nay they are but trifling morsels.

As you loom above Trenton, you see the log walls, dotted with archers along its battlements. The town beyond though muchly unguarded and sleeping.

You flap your wings, softly landing a good distance away near some trees. The entire town is surrounded by a forest, and sits up high at the base of mountains. There are also high wooden walls and battlements that encircle most of it.. You look around at the cold wintery snow. You're reluctant to become human as being human comes with some weaknesses. Namely that you're a good deal more fragile, and your magic is diminished. Using your magic you begin the transformation. Though, still leagues more hardy than an average human for sure.

You activate your magic, letting the flowing rivers from your breath surround you and begin your transformation. Making you smaller, crushing and shrinking your body into a small human form. Its uncomfortable, like putting on a suit thats way too tight. Though it should hold for as long as you allow it. You stretch out your limbs somewhat moving a bit wobbly for a bit before getting your bearings. As you stretch and move your new human limbs, you look off at the town in the far distance minimally illuminated by fire and moonlight.

For now, infiltration is your number one concern. But how to do it best? Without identification, or a story, you couldn't very well just walk inside right? Humans are quite stupid and ignorant, but hardly that stupid right? Best not to underestimate them.
There in the nude you shiver. Fucks sake, this body will be the death of you. You had forgotten for a moment that you require covering. You're covered in goosebumps shivering not feeling the thick plumage covering your body. With a bit of magic you manifest a dress you recall seeing one of the servant acoylte women were wearing from memory. The fit is... A bit loose, but it will do.
You'll need more than just a nice outfit and an average form. Humans have... Identification right? You could make a fake identification if you knew what they looked like. Cursed ape things and their wretched triflings...
You'll need an excuse to get in without one.
A sudden sound from behind you. The grunt of a bear shaking its head. You whirl around concerned you may be in trouble.. And as you lock eyes, It notices you, but quickly looks away. As though it knows your true form.
As you stand there looking at it, your mind comes up with a plan... Yes... That will do. If you can't make a fake id, this bear will be the excuse to get in without one.

You shriek the whispers of madness at the bear. The foul spell goes into its ears. It roars responding to your call! You hear it stomping forward as it rushes through the snow at you!
You quickly run feeling somewhat fearful. Though you also laugh as the moon peeks through the clouds overhead.
The rush of wind, and the growling grunting bear behind you! Its exhilarating! This is incredible! The first time you've felt the THRILL of danger in so long!
Cursed human legs though, you'd forgotten shoes! And though you're probably running faster than a normal human would here, you're still heavily uncoordinated and sloppy.
The bear roars and slashes your side spilling blood on the snow as you trip and fall! The bear snaps a bite at you only for you to roll at the last moment. A horrific wound! Worthless human form so defenseless! But... This too can work to your advantage!
You scramble to your feet, screaming and running away as loudly as you can towards the town!
The bear huffing and grunting behind you! You barrel forwards towards the town as your weak leg muscles feel sore! You can easily smell its hideous breath, fishy rancid miasma!
Blood is leaking down your side like a spring. Pouring down the slash marks. Your heart pumping and pounding.
"Someone help me! I'm being attacked!" You shout in the distance at the guards! The guards who were talking to each other take notice and rouse to their senses as they see you coming.

"A bears after her!"
