Votes are counted until 25 minutes have passed. This rule doesn't apply to the last reply of the day.
Votes that require a dice roll are counted until 15 minutes have passed, so we can speed up the process. Rolls are counted until 10 minutes have passed, so be prepared!

(NEW) Dice Mechanic:

We always roll 1d100s!
Since most people weren’t happy with the system of averaging top four rolls, we’re using best of 2/3/4 depending on the attribute a prompt requires. If Johnny is a genius and it’s a Knowledge based roll, he gets more rolls (Max. 7)! If he sucks, he gets less dice (Min. 2)!

When asked for rolls, I will specify how many you’re going to get. Rolling begins after it’s asked.

Rolling 100 is a critical! There are no Critical Failures anymore!

The difficulty of the roll is tied with the effectiveness of the action. In other words, the harder the option the better the result!

Don’t forget that at the end of the day, this is a story-driven quest! What the prompts are describ-ing is more important than the difficulty of the rolls, for results in a fight.

Again, rolls are only counted when they are posted within ten minutes of being asked, so watch out!

“Why don’t you relax with us, Kushi? I know you deserve it.” You say with a faint smile of coziness. “She was sick early in the day, everyone. She must be tired still.”

“I can attest to it! We all admire your dedication, Ms. Chef, but why not decompress?” Crossbill walks down the stairs. “You want my or Zyra’s lap?” The bird slaps her tights.

“We’ll have to use the floor. I’m prepared.” Zyra is planning ahead with the carpet and some of the pillows around.

“I’m fine as is.” Kushi remains in the comfy cube. Her loss.

“I kinda want to learn more about everyone, including you. I didn’t mean to annoy you.” You apologize.

“Ha! I’m having a moment of solidarity with Lady Clumsy. You can’t annoy me, Chef.” Kushi will laugh again if she has to.

“That’s how it always starts…” Vera remembers when… huh… hmm… You don’t think she remembers a time when she wasn’t annoyed with you.

“T-The name is Vortexia, anyhow! I’m repeating it so everyone is aware! And note that I’ll be a star sooner than later.” Lady Clumsy corrects.

“Shave my timbers! I think I’ve heard of you before! Ah, it must’ve been my lil’ sister!” Sally has now realized. “My name is Sally! Don’t forget it either!”

“We need to work on your pirate-speak.” Zyra shakes her head. “I’m Zyra, by the way. And this is Beth. It’s a pleasure, Kushi and Vortexia. Noon, Vera, and their allies helped us in a major way. Our debt won’t be easily paid.”

“Oh no…” Vortexia is puzzling together this is the prison stuff… Crossbill can’t contain her laughter.

“My, my. As true as it is, let’s not get that serious.” Beth smiles softly.

“Yeah, our star boy wants to learn more about you. Don’t let the chance slip.” Crossbill teases.

“He should go ahead and ask… We’re here to serve.” Beth giggles.

“I have a question.” You stroke your chin like you’re about to say something stupid. “Sally, why are you a pirate?” A strangely reasonable question from you! A lot of people in the room were wondering the same thing.

“Blimey whammy! It’s a type of tale you don’t hear often…” Sally tries to give mystique to her narration. “I was a sea captain! I brought shipments from one side of the globe to another. Takes a rare gem to travel the seas in these monster-infested waters. If you have the skill, your talents are highly sought after by all shipping companies.” Sally pumps her chest, proud of her abilities. “But in one instance, my cargo was full of smuggled goods. Even if the investigation cleared me of being involved, I was vetoed from acting as captain. I lost my license...”

“You were framed?” Vera believes in her massager.

“Yes! Argh! I wasn’t careful! I have a hunch it was the cargo company that did me in. Not that it changed anything. My heart turned dark… and I decided that since I can’t be no sailor, I should become a pirate, matey!” Sally sounds more silly than evil. You’re starting to appreciate Vortexia’s act.

“What a rebel.” Beth finds the pirate very cute.

“Then you started smuggling goods on purpose?” Zyra asks.

“No, I was hired by an international company, and got different qualifications.” Sally shakes her head.

“O-Oh…” Zyra expected something different.

“You told me you got detained at a checkpoint here, delivering goods for the N.U., right?” Beth asks.

“Aye!” Sally smiles. “I never knew why…” Sally laments. That’s why Judith must be willing to help her out.

“I’m sorry you had to go through all that, Sally. I’m glad we could help you out.” You smile.

“I don’t regret it at all...” Vera is too into the massage.

“Ooh! Unmasked buccaneer, and friendly Vera! I love you so much!” Sally will pamper you both as long as she can! “Just ask me for anything and I’ll do it!” The pirate eyes you on the lips with a certain look...

“It’s not different from saving us all in a Guess Whom game.” Zyra points out as she chuckles at the absurdity.

“What a lovely day…” Beth is taken back to… two days ago.

“He did what…?” Vortexia is more confused than ever.

“Right!” You nod, then you turn back to Clutz while enjoying the comfort of Beth’s cushion. “And Nina?”

“She’s a friend of mine. We all grew up in the same small town, we were in the Temple’s chorus together, she was a little bit of a mentor figure — and she was the first one to leave for the big city. Huh, you know what? I-It’s nothing really important. I haven’t seen her for a while either...” Vortexia gets all shy remembering it. That explains why your lovely teacher is a good singer!

“A country bumpkin…” Beth likes that.

“Where are you from exactly?” Zyra asks a key question.

“Uhm… Laoling. It’s in the region of Topakasa.” Vortexia is a little embarrassed about it.

“Ah! The Red Port! Quite the historic one! Beautiful place, you should be proud!” Sally wants to return one day. “Home of the giant squid!.”

“No. There’s no way a town is known for Giant Squids. Stop it.” Vera doesn’t like this information.

“Can those be cooked?” Kushi asks the dumbest question. Of course they can be!

“Don’t give validity to her claims with a question…” Vera grumbles. Sally kisses her on the cheek to calm the rat…

“It’s the pride and joy of the local fisherman!” Sally smiles.

It feels like there is some unfinished business between all of them. You’re not going to let your vengeful idol suffer, so you’ll bridge the gap!

“Wanna call them on my phone?” You propose as you get more vertical! Beth decides to put your head back on her blouse cushions… It’s very comfortable… “We can start with whoever you want.”

“Call Nina and Jesse?” Vortexia never saw this offer on the table, and looks a tiny bit anxious.

“What’s the harm? You look troubled by it.” Kushi agrees with your idea.

“Reconnecting might prove helpful.” Zyra got the same vibe as you did! “I might just listen to my own advice.” The former prisoner looks at the phone she’s holding.

“Aye! I should call my family while at it, too! They’re in for a big surprise.” Sally will follow suit.

“At the very least, I need to inform my brother of my whereabouts.” Kushi sighs.

“Let’s take a small break. Seems everyone has something on their mind that they wanna do.” Crossbill notices the whole vibe.

Wait, is she the sister of the main character Al from Slightly Petty Revenge quest?

Well, not exactly the whole meal, but the dessert! This girl loves this one special treat that’s fun to make: A Strawberry Sundae with Two Big Marshmallows on top! Kushi took the main brunt of the work to impress you, so you were left with all the control of the dessert. The whole lunch is a smash hit. Kushi is a phenomenal cook, her part of the dish is brilliant! It could have reached the top of your list if it were one of your preferences! But it isn’t, so Vortexia’s cookies remain on first for now…

As for the Sundae, it goes as well as you can imagine! A sensation! Crossbill and Vortexia especially enjoy it; those marshmallows are too enticing, but Vera complains about the serving being too big for some reason. It probably reminds her of something else. This is not to say Beth, Kushi, and Sally are coy about their enjoyment. They didn’t leave a hint of a leftovers. Kushi noting that she doesn’t normally enjoy sweets.

But the one most surprised is Zyra, who shyly eats it at a normal pace — but enjoyed every single bite to her heart’s content. It was impossible for her to hide, but no one was paying attention, all distracted by their own glee.

“You don’t have to pay special attention to me… But thank you so much.” Zyra whispers into your ear as she takes her dirty dishes to the kitchen. Not even the coldness of the dessert could hide her blush. You wink at her and say it’s no problem. Sadly for her, you’re going to keep doing this…

And that’s all for lunch! A resounding success! You inform those unaware of your plans. There’s some disappointment, but with Beth coming along, there’s hope for your return.
