She stabs her pitchfork into you, over, and over, the horrific searing pain is unbearable! Her demonic pitchfork is dripping with your blood!

"Don't worry! I'll be sure to savor each and every bite! I won't let one morsel go to waste! I'll devour each and every part of you!"

As you lay gasping and wheezing for breath, your vision begins to blur, though you know this isn't the end just yet. You'll wake up, and the real torment will begin in earnest. Morrigoth has won, claiming complete victory. Maybe she was right, in another life, you could've chosen to trust, and you would've been partners against the system. But its not as though you can take it back. You're not even a person anymore, just food waiting to be digested. As you know the horrific fate of having your soul devoured will likely be more painful than anything you've ever experienced, and your soul will truly die.

Which brings me to yet another point. See I had planned to sort of, do the whole naming thing once the "quest started" and you entered the new world. But we sort of took a funny detour, which is totally fine, I think its a cool direction! But I'm thinking you guys could offer some feedback as to a few things such as,

You trek through the dark bowels of hell with Damien and Morrigoth for a while. Its... As miserable and depressing as you imagine, much like the inside of someones stomach, its as though the walls are alive, ligaments, or muscle fibers seem to be what the walls are made up of. Veins. As though you walked through the stomach of a once great beast. You approach the broken remnants of a train station. And pass by fallen pillars and rocks, to see one intact shortened train car.

With his magic, he opens the door and you enter in with Morrigoth, with Damien behind.

"Make yourselves at home. This train can go many ways. But we're headed for Eerybss yes? Please, get comfortable. I must drive at the helm, as it requires long lost Malebolge magic to operate."

The train starts to move, it blazes through surprisingly quick along many stretches of dark tendrilled passages, some of which tingle with great unknowable horrors that you're not entirely sure you'd like to squint harder to make out for fear that you would never sleep again.

And the train stops. You exit from the train station. And into the destroyed ruins of... A city?

You, Damien and Morrigoth all seem to collectively take a deep breath.

"Ah Roughset! Come, we must make haste to the hotel, lest we run into Glitchers on our way!"

Damien confidently struts forward through the partially ruined city.

Morrigoth pouts,

"We don't have any money Damien! I assume you've got enough for all of us?"

He chuckles. "Perhaps, perhaps not. I've got enough pogs I think. But I'll see about pulling a few strings to see if we can stay for free."

"Uh, pogs? The twitch emote?"

"The twitching what now? No you silly man you... They're cardboard tokens. This worlds currency."

He flashes a handful of cardboard tokens with colorful characters on them.

"Oh! Woah, they're like... Old cartoon characters."

He snickers, "Charming aren't they? You can trade one or two of these in at the arcade and play for hours and hours! You wouldn't believe how fun it is!"

Morrigoth sighs,

"I hope they've got an arcade at the hotel. I could use something to get my mind off everything."

"You know, as I recall, there may be one in the lobby, we'll just have to see!"

You arrive at the hotel sometime later. Sadly there was no arcade cabinet in the lobby. So while Damien negotiates the room prices. You find the elevator is broken. So you and Morrigoth trek up to the 6th floor on your own. And after a long trek up. You find a woman near your door at room 67.

"Long time no see Jeremy."

Jeremy... Its been so long since anyone used your name. Hey... Wait a minute. This mermaid woman... "M-marina? Is that you!?"

She looks at you with a depressed unamused gaze. "Yeah."

"WOW! Its been like... What like 5 years!? I haven't seen you since the old times when... When you were..."

Marina slowly blinks and nods, "I remember. You were the only one that treated me like a human being and hung out with me."

Marina looks at you with that same unamused expression. You reply slowly with the realization. "Oh..."

"I see you haven't changed much. And I can see you've already moved on. You're into goth girls now. Morrigoth is your type huh?"

Morrigoth looks a bit shy somewhat hiding behind you.

"Wait! You know her!?"

"Yeah, she was there when I was choosing my perk for reincarnation."

Marina sighs softly, "She said, 'trust me, I have the perfect solution.' And so... I trusted her. And when I woke up here, I had a mermaid fin."

"There aren't. There are however a lot of dangerous monsters in the water, and a lot of runoff sewage."

"O-oh... Um... Also, we're... We're on the 6th floor. How... How did you get up here even though the elevator is down?"

Marinas flat unmoving expression as she stares at you.

"Marina... D-don't tell me you... You crawled up SIX FLIGHTS OF STAIRS?"

Marina doesn't respond but just looks at you still.

"Well, I've become a pizza delivery driver. It was kind of hard to use the pedals with my fin, but after the first three car accidents I got the hang of it. Luckily I'm immortal so I didn't die."

"And throughout all this time, the thought that kept me going was, what if I one day was able to go home and see Jeremy again, and confess to him like I was going to before I got hit by that truck."

"You! You actually.. You actually felt that way about me?"

"Its ok though. I understand, you've got yourself a new goth girlfriend. I know how this goes. Childhood friend never wins."

"Thats.... Marina this isn't an anime, and Morrigoth isn't... Technically my girlfriend, she just owns my soul."

Morrigoth is trying to cover her face slightly looking like she also feels horrible.

"Hes right... Like if you technically still wanted to like be with him... I mean I'm open to sharing-"

"Thats alright." Marina says depressively.

"Are you sure? Because I mean-"

"I mean its alright. I would say I'm going to kill myself now. But that would imply I could die."

"Marina you can't-"

"And before you ask, I've tried using the heros sword. No, it doesn't work... Though it did make my wrists bleed out for a week. It really hurt."

so far this place has been worse than literal hell with the only other goddess we've heard about being worse than actual demons
