Beings of Creation -1: #2
> While every world travels slowly towards its end, yours has just begun its journey.
> For this world, the cycle of Gods and Men spins anew, on freshly birthed lands awash with life.
> You are a being of creation, a God, among the first divinities born not long after a world’s genesis. You possess innate knowledge and immense power, with which you may seize dominance and carve out a place for yourself in these savage, untamed wilds.

Welcome to a spinoff installation of Beings of Creation, a long-running tactical civ-style hexcrawl based on your imagination. You are a non-omniscient divine being of great power. You find yourself spontaneously brought into existence in a prehistoric, primeval world, untouched by Gods.
The rules are relatively simple, and may be picked up as you go, but the document below goes into detail. Most players are familiar veterans of the game, so don't be shy and feel free to ask questions.

Though they lack the dexterity for the task, your Wolfmen try their level best to carve out stones for more easy assembly, to…mixed results. Stonecarving (you need to level your General Tech up to Oltar Age (i.e. 10) to be able to develop Masonry, so just treated this as a General progress tech) developed.
Though many Wolfmen balk at the idea of ingesting milk well into adulthood, and from another species entirely no less, some grow to enjoy the taste and the health benefits, when the beverage is drunk in moderation, speak for themselves. Milking developed.

While you rather dislike sharing the tips and tricks of the trade you’ve accumulated, you suppose it’s for a worthy cause, if it will allow you to accumulate treasure of the more physically valuable variety. Thus you educate a small number of your Sharpclaws, who quickly disseminate the knowledge further among the rank and file. Pillager Doctrine developed.
Girded for war and eager to loot and pillage, a force of Sharpclaws sally forth from your southernmost settlement, ready to enrich themse-er, the great and might Drakatron! Sharpclaw Mob Unit created.

While your people have always been able to communicate well enough to manage in the day to day, as their population grows, and the complexity and interconnection of their lives along with it, so to does their language to compensate, the scraping, hissing vocalizations of the Magma Spawn undergoing a transformation into true speech. Cinder Speak developed.
As the population grows and the tunnels become more crowded, some begin to travel farther afield, fascinated by the strange new flora and fauna found far from home, so uniquely different from anything they would have seen had they chosen to remain in the warmth and safety of their volcanic tunnels. Cave Exploration developed.

While one needs careful practice to handle these newly knapped knives safely, lest they find them self unbonded from their fingers, the utility they provide in skinning hunted beasts, or taking apart that which might otherwise be beyond the relatively mundane strength of your people is undeniable. Knives developed.
It is also undeniable, however, that the sharpness of these tools might be turned to more offensive purposes. Strongly affixed to a sufficiently sturdy length of wood, they serve as both a fine walking stick and a deterrent with a deadly sting to many of the predators that stalk the snowy wastes beyond the Bondsglade’s mountainous aegis. Spears developed.

Huáng
The crocodile, though not so intimidated as to be fully cowed by your words and threats, at least seems receptive, eyeing you with a cold and calculating gaze as it lurks beneath the frothing river water. Zaraave’s Obstinance is now 1/3.
Transformed by her time spent cultivating with you, Heliodos slumbers atop your shoulder, a great deal smaller, though no less powerful for it, and with only faint hints of her former reptilian visage still remaining, accenting her more humanoid shape. For no, she slumbers, storing how energy in preparation for her waking. Or perhaps she’s just taking a nap. Jade Beauty Heliodos (1/?) developed.
(Ima be real, a Develop like Exquisite Technique needs a bit more fluff justification, and some DI, so just gonna refund the MA for now.)

Laqura
Enlightened to the ways of aquaculture by their deity, the Granchpolpo and their Pallipod companions take to tending the great piscine schools like…well, fish to water. Though it takes a bit of time to convey to the Pallipods that their handlers do not simply want the fish caught or eaten, after a few hours the intelligent cephalopods make fine herders alongside the Granchpolpo themselves, and over the new few years your people perfect the tending of schools large enough to blanket portions of the reef and handily feed even the growing population of Tidemark. Aquatic Herding developed.
In fact, with such an abundant, mobile source of food, some of your people dream of travelling beyond the reefs, to more exotic locales. And where could be more exotic then astride the back of your placid new friend. Though there is some friction that you yourself need to smooth over with the local wildlife, Godomoloke itself seems more then happy about the prospect of new houseguests. Coralback built.

Though some Shades cannot help but find the bone accessories barbaric and simplistic, far beneath their (perceived) station, others find the…simplistic accoutrements to lend them the mien of a noble savage, whatever that means. Bone Charms developed.
Inspired by what he has become, yet equally horrified by what he once was, Arbaldo attempts to spread his recovered consciousness to some of the other Shades surrounding him. For the time being, however, his entreaties seem to fall of deaf ears, his fellows, thoroughly enthralled by the call of the crown. Hero (1/?) developed.

Lithic
Vulkan is certain he’s on the right track. He’s even made a wheel big enough! Unfortunately, no matter what he does, so far he finds little success in forcing the wheel the move, the water seemingly lacking the force and even his own geomantic abilities lacking the heft needed to rotate something so large. Water Wheel Develop Spell failed, 1 DI refunded.
Though small in individual plot size and yield quantity, the bowl farms of your people provide crops of unmatched size and quality, the excess of nutrients concentrated into each bowl-shaped farm and the careful tending by each of the patient Petrosapien farmers allowing every plant to flourish with a vigour unmatched by what can be found in their wild counterparts. Farming developed.
Though to most, applying themselves such back-breaking labour to acquire a mere delicacy would seem like utter madness, to your hard-headed, patient people such persistence is simply common sense. With a single-minded determination they bore their way into the earth, utilizing every scrap of knowledge at their disposal until, at last, after weeks of digging, they come across a mineral deposit capable of sating them, their hard work rewarded with a hearty meal. Now on to the next one! Mining developed.

At long last, a labour of love centuries in the making bears fruit, Daleth emerging fully formed from the warmth of your light filled with care, purpose, and a desire to protect the Liten who peacefully roam your lands that mirrors your own. In devotion to that solemn duty they surpass, perhaps, even you. Daleth created.
Inspired by the flowing beauty of their voices as they are raised up in song, and the necessity of communicating with their many neighbours, the Liten develop a language all their own, lilting, lyrical and beautiful in equal measure. Chimesong developed.

Makrópnoos
Caught off guard, and seemingly still tender after shaking off some unknown injury, you’re able to catch the massive red monster by surprise, your fist cracking several scales along its flanks as you evade its off-kilter retaliatory blow. Rojodaz’s Vitality is now 15/25.
Hardy and hard-headed in equal measure, this new breed of Aurodox, somehow even sturdier then the other, more mundane varieties, proves difficult to bring to heel, even for the most experienced breeders and handlers of Aurodox. Though it will likely take some ingenuity to bend these stubborn creatures to their will, the rewards, your people hope, will be commensurate with the task. Hardtusk Aurodox (1/2) developed.
With news of violence brewing to the West, your people begin to undertake drills, readying themselves for fights against deadlier foes then mere wild beasts. Though truly advanced formations and tactics are still beyond them, this training will, with any luck, prepare them for pitched combat, at least where those less or equally trained are concerned. Tactics developed.

Mortrose
Sickly, necrotic green now replaced with cold, merciless blue, and blocky stone replaced by smooth ceramic, the newly dubbed (by yourself, of course) Consecrators serve your servants well during a smattering of test-firings, reducing any creature foolish enough to saunter into your mindless minions’ line of sight to less then dust. Even their spirits are rent asunder by the cold, unfeeling beams fired by equally cold, unfeeling soldiers. Consecrators created.
Marked by your scrawl, the pieces of your hoard that you so graciously allow to walk free (by a given definition of the word, anyways) find their path in “life” set before they are even truly “born”, imbued with purpose and intent that cannot be denied. Wyrmscrawl developed.

The Beast
Distracted by your singing, the massive white cetacean turns its attention away from the Marines, coiling closer and closer…unfortunately, based on the irritation in its beady eyes and the deep, rumbling call that begins to drown out your own song, you suspect the Primal is less enthralled and more displeased.
Yet even as the looming, iceberg sized monster drifts closer, your divinity and the boy’s unique gift intertwine, forming something with which you might, perhaps, be able to bring this beast over to your side, so that the tragedy of your strange dance partner might never be repeated. Ichor Conversion (3/?) developed.
Though still only found in relatively small quantities outside of the harsh, stinging storms where even the hardiest of your people fear to tread, those enhanced by your Ichor are, for reasons beyond even you fascinated by the grainy white mineral, its taste and texture awakening…something in them. In short order many have harassed small hoards of the stuff, guarding it zealously so that they might be able to take a lick or three on a rainy day. Mineral Gathering developed.

The Door
1 Portal constructed.
Though still limited by the equally limited number of universally recognized symbols, the writing, such as it is, is a big leap forward for your Sestans in terms of cataloguing and keeping track of the wide variety of different goods and tools they’ve accrued over the years, helping them to jog their memory or inform future descendants where even their steel-trap minds come up short. Writing & Bookkeeping developed.
As soon as the first sign is created it’s already over. Your people take to the metaphorical arms race with a zeal that surprises even you, dozens of little tricks and tactics falling in and out of fashion as canny shop owners attempt to draw in equally canny Sestans customers, along with any poor, uncivilized saps that wander too close and find themselves mesmerized by your people’s superior signage. Signboard & Advertisement developed.

The Whisper
Unfortunately, combined with the overwhelming rush of divinity that pours forth in a torrent the blade’s spark, this undertaking proves altogether too much for poor Serrel, who finds himself breaking apart under the strain before the spell fizzles out, its potential tragically unrealized. Blade of Aegus Develop Spell failed, 1 DI refunded.
Utterly average in every way, Theobald nevertheless charges into battle at the God King’s request. But with the massive red hunter now alerted the crowned god’s assault, his blade and mighty Gliraximum’s gnashing teeth find little purchase in their target. Rojodaz’s Vitality is now 15/25.
The conditions met, a royal covenant grows, the farseer and kingmaker finding that yet another is elevated to join their ranks, however unworthy he might believe himself to be of the honour. Royal Allegiance Pantheon developed.
Ser Greg, meanwhile, reaps a grim toll among the violent species of lizardmen, though the spines that burst out from their bodies whenever they die inflict a great deal of pain upon the stalwart knight as well. Greg the Green’s Vitality is now 3/7.

tsss
Your marauders attack the settlement with wild abandon, though as a green-plated knight is set among them like a hawk among (very spiky) doves, their numbers begin to quickly dwindle.
Clearly blessed by tsss, these sharp stones, made even sharper by repeated beatings, prove useful for a variety of tasks around the Kikka camp. Furthermore, while still quite stabby, these sharpened rocks prove much LESS stabby, not to mention splintery, then the sablewood, a quality that, while typically rather blasphemous, proves a bit more useful for the sorts of tasks that do not typically involve any stabbing of one’s self. Knapping developed.
Though it tastes gritty and metallic, your people happily gulp it down anyway, considering it comes from a bounty of water your people would previously have never even conceived of. These wells, relatively shallow and filled with unpleasant tasting water though they may be, are both a proverbial and literal oasis in the desert for the Kikka, saving them from tense trips to the local watering hole, where they needed to be one the constant lookup for creatures that might decide they want a snack to go with their afternoon drink. Well Digging developed.

Ͼ-Arkatassus
Imbued with a touch of your own assimilating qualities, the speech of those Sauria sworn to you seems to sprout from the lips of those who hear it with a will of their own, spreading throughout a crowd or community with a speed and alacrity that would alarm even their originator. Inescapable Rhetoric developed.
Though it is a great and mighty (and mostly cactus related) undertaking the remodel their village into something a bit less sprawling and a bit more civilized, especially considering many of your people are thoroughly sun addled, eventually after much sweat, blood, and (for some reason) theological debate the settlement is finally put into order. City Planning developed.

PRIMAL ACTIONS
Arktikana
Letting out a rumbling, sonorous cry that cracks the surrounding ice, the massive cetacean plows through the shore, freezing water rushing in its wake as it attempts to ram into the source of the irritating song (Arktikana attacks, it rolls the first and second die).

Duplocuta
R.I.P.

Jollibom
Its wandering interrupted, the white-and-blue ursine puffs up, muscles bulging as the markings on its torso seem to form a snarling face, and an earth-shattering roar of rage blasts forth from between the bear's long, gleaming white canines (Jollibom activates Threat Display, it rolls the third and fourth die).

Quarenicis
The sand vibrates with greater intensity, plumes of it sent adrift in the air by the force of the shaking before a massive tan worm explodes up from beneath, dunes collapsing into a great pit with its undulating form at the epicenter as it coils around its prey, mouth unfolding into more then a dozen toothy mandibles as it attempts to bite (Quarenicis resurfaces, all Units on its hex must make an Agility roll against a DR/6 of 1, and attacks, it rolls the fifth die).

Zaraave
Though it seems, for a moment, to consider the terms offered to it, massive crocodilian instead chooses to surge out of the water, jaws snapping as it attempts to snag its spiny prey and drag it into the depths (Zaraave attacks, attempting to grapple and drag its target back into the water, it rolls the sixth and seventh die).

> Rabble Riders Run Away! Move to (13,19), back to the Door!

At the Eastern Reach the chaos of battle lulls for a moment as the might of Ser Greg crashes across the battlefield, choking, crushing and twisting Kikka to death, those Kikka who were out of reach diving for cover as spines fly wildly from the fallen. They peek out from cover and see Ser Greg, riddled with spikes, oozing from dozens of wounds, hunched over with pain. They hold their breath, surely nothing in this world could survive such a thing?

Ser Greg the Green straightens up, standing tall, unbroken. There is a long silent pause, then with much screaming and shouting the Kikka flee the town in a panic.

>Unit Move: Drakatron to [32,21]
>Unit Move: Sharpclaw Mob to [32,21]

The arrogant dragon robot god steps up to the portal, presses his hand against it, and... Nothing. It refuses to budge. A second attempt, with a bit more force. Still nothing. A third attempt, nada.

"Oh, for the love of..." He turns to his minions. "Well? Time to prove you were worth the investment."

>Unit Interaction: Sharpclaw Mob Attacks The Door at [32,21]
(Rolling for Attack, currently under the impression that any situation that would call for rolling 0 dice or any negative value has you rolling 2 and taking the WORSE result so here goes.)

As the bumbling fools clumsily thwack their assortment of sharp things at the ends of sticks against the portal, Drakatron ponders is perhaps he's been neglecting their development, operating on a premature assumption of how easy it would be to just steal crap from others.

Clearly, the answer is to make them better at fighting, such that they can *then* steal crap in non-fighting fields.

>Major Action: Develop primitive Ranged Weapons

>Develop [MA] - Chamberpots
>Preq-Tech: Pottery
> By placing their waste in pots and disposing of it outside of the village the Kikka reduce the spread of disease, and make things smell much better as well!
As the number of Kikka grows, all agree that something must be done about the smell. The time honored tradition has of course always been to relieve oneself wherever, whenever, then kick a bit of dirt or sand over it and move on. But as the number of people in the tribe grows ever larger, the frequency by which one kicks a bit of dirt only to find last week's deposit has increased to an unacceptable level. Fortunately there is a simple answer, put it in a pot and carry it away!

>Develop [MA] - Primitive Tanning
>Preq-Resources: Something with a skin, Salt, Clay, Sablewood
> By treating rawhide with salt solutions, animal fats, and sablewood bark a primitive leather is produced
It begins inauspiciously, with piss. Few Kikka live to old age, and those that do tend to be encouraged to make way for the youth, for their best stab years are behind them. Food and water are often scarce after all. So it is with Elder Crah, who helps butcher kills from the hunt in exchange for a few scraps of meat from each one. Until one day a band of youths dump a pot of piss onto him. Or try to anyway, for they miss their mark and instead soak the stack of rawhide pelts at his side. When the hubbub settles the elder sets to the unpleasant task of cleaning the hides, only to find the attempt to scrap them clean with a sharp stone is removing furs and hair as well. An ember of intuition glows in the elder’s mind, and thus begins a strange series of experiments, of salt and piss, discarded parasite infested brains and old animal fat lost in the salt pits. The youth claim he has gone mad in his old age, soft and dull. Crah is never appreciated during his life for the first leathers he creates, but he is the first kikka to die while wrapped warmly in a thick leather blanket.

Seeing the Red Hunter bound away faster than he could,Makrópnoos narrowed his eyes. If the Beast liked to call itself a predator and a hunter, then it would soon learn the meaning of persistence hunting. The humanoid giant took off in a leasurely jog after the wild god, collecting various textiles and a lot of wood without even stopping along the way. As he jogged, he fashionedd a gigantic spear from the materials and used a flash of foresight to pinpoint his quarry's exact position. Then Makrópnoos sped up in a full speed sprint and threw the spear in a strong arc, aiming for the monster's eye.

ἰσχύς was exploring the north, exposed to the colder regions of this world for the first time in this life. He spotted a village ahead of him though he felt them connected to that beast his god had encountered...

Of course he had to get interrupted by a new arrival: Shellac. He eyes the humanoid up and down, noting that despite prominent humanoid features, it also looked strange and bestial. ''Greetings stranger, I am named ἰσχύς and I hail from the south from a most curious and ingenious people, though I doubt any of them have seen these lands yet.'' He hummed thoughtfully at the mention of the creatures. ''I can see the are not yours, however I can sense that they belong to the beast me and my Lord have encountered. >Unit Action [God]: Move to <36,24>.
>Unit Action [Wizards] [2 Mana]: Move to <35,23>. spellcast on the Gateway, move to <36,24>.

Kenrose - Aetheral Wizard. The stars are a foreign concept to the underworld, where the closest equivalent are replaced with mounds of desperately escaping soulstuff clinging to the ceilings of caves. Miasma, obfuscation, and manipulation of souls and the planes beyond are this wizard's forte.
Using these techniques, and the Wyrm's Will to assist, Kenrose takes a smattering of glepnal clay tablets from Mortrose and begins work on piecing the mechanisms behind these bizarre gateways popping up at disturbing frequency along their borders. And in preparation to block any spacial manipulation coming from it in retribution, if need be. The two wizards slither up to the Door in the comforting cover of night. Using her scrawlings as she coils around the surreal structure, Brother Sadman stands atop her salamandrian head and begins *his* work.
Brother Sadman - Corruption Wizard. Of which his first spellcast was to corrupt himself to the Lindwyrm's camp. Clearly not to be trusted, but a waste to simply leave idle. And what better way than to put a proverbial foot in the door. These portals may not work for his Lady's ilk yet, but rather than bash down these tools like a simple minded brute, why not work the knob a bit, coax the hinges, and with a gentler touch get a far more favorable result. Where there is a lock, there is a lockpick. And where there is an entryway, there is a trespasser.

>Minor: [Communicate] - Laqura
One fateful day, as the sun falls low on the horizon and a watercolor of reds and oranges spread out across the clear, perfectly still seas the Water God and Godomoloke reside in, a black flock appear in the skies. Lazily circling, they slowly descend until they rest on the nose of the simple minded and curious primal. Cawing and cackling eerily at the passing Granchpolpo, their jeers and insults come to a sudden pause as Laqura's presence looms. Then, their mouths open in unison, and an utterly different, deeper, feminine voice booms out, "Ooooh? Hello, hello? The bird brains must have finally made it. Greetings, my dearest neighbor. This emissary arrives on behalf of myself, the esteemed Mortrose, whom you may also know as the Lindwyrm of Rebirth. I have taken it upon myself to seek out graceful introductions, in hopes of not being assaulted unjustly and unprompted like I once was only shortly ago."

"I have no immediate qualms with you or yours, but I do seek an answer to a rather pertinent question of mine."From on far, the wyrm rises to gaze on the eastern horizon, "Do you have any designs on your southern neighbor? That old rotting tree. It smells of my assailant, and I'd rather see any potential threats nipped before seeing another rock, or branch as it may be fall upon my delicate head."

>Major: [Develop] [DI] - God Ability: Dragon's Breath [2/2] - Ability Effect: Unlock a potent AoE cone attack that can sweep through whole hexes worth of units and settlements. Uses Strength stat, not spirit.
Using: Domain - Mud

The trumpcard of any dragon worth it's salt, and a symbol of pride to lord over younger whelps; the mudwyrm finally seizes her birthright after having it's genesis delayed by a particularly obnoxious heavensent harlot. With the roiling rage of the earth itself pooled within her, and serratosaur's lingering voracity soaked into the glepnal they made in their mutual deaththroes, she can spew a torrent of divine blood-red-mud that rolls and roils across the world, drowning and scalding everyone consumed by it. Truly, an excruciatingly awful way to die.

>Major: [Develop] [DI] - Wyrm's Will (Magic System, Rune based) - Using Wyrmscrawl's abyssal runes and a honest True gift from their Lady, Her Hollow Vessels can now channel the powers of their god's will or wizard's spells by their own hands. Wyrm's Will requires three major factors to work: Wyrmscrawl, minions to carve the correct runes and channel the magics accordingly through an object, and a resource created by the hands or from the body of their god. Be it the glepnal that came from her ichor suffusing the tar pits, or Her vain transformation of the consecrators; the magic of the dragon only works through what could be described as the extended body of the dragon Herself. An abyssal magic on the 'flesh' of underwordly beasts.
Using: Domain - Mud/Soul, Tech - Wyrm's Tongue, Wyrmscrawl. Resources - Kosk, Glepnal Mud, Consecrators, and future Mortrose-made resources

Left to lick her wounds, the mudwyrm had much time to think on how she came about to this junction, the pain of the mana spring erupting underground and forcing her to surface, the headaches of coming sapience as she fought tooth and nail with beast and god. The ways of the surface differed drastically from her home, and though she missed the cool and the dark dearly, a thought occurred. Why return herself to the already conquered and controlled, when she could instead bring the wonders of the underworld to the surface? As such, continuing off of her attempts to petition the suns to dim their obnoxious glare with written missives, the Lindwyrm gifted her hoard the joys of the underworld's words and writings, dreadful as they are to mortal minds. But she did not only give them the words to brand and torture them with. No, for it is her way of expanding her reach, strengthening their arms, and suffusing her will over the very earth they walk on, and in turn, twist the world to their own benefit.

"Hello unto you, Lindwyrm of Rebirth." Laqura's voice burbles back through the communication method arranged; assuming that this deity must be able to hear as well as speak from afar. "Unjustly assaulted? Oh, dear. Was that by the entity who had been gathering south and east? Daemupochu and I had made plans to stand together if it came for us. Instead, it veered westward. And then we felt it fade. You were the one who felled it, then."

There is a gurgling, water going around as if drawn by some eddy.

"Daemupochu. That is the name of my neighbour. I had showered he and his Daemu with my waters; and in turn he gifted me and mine with seeds of life. He is not your assailant. Whilst he lives, I harboured no covetous thought toward him. Yet that life he so represents is drawing to conclusion. You feel it. That is why you have drawn close, I so presume?"

There is another gurgling.

"Though our time as neighbours was shorter then expected, I feel it as my duty to offer my care for what was created, what was represented. To keep it watered, and thus alive. At least, in part."

The sound of pattering rain whispers through the communications as the water-god pauses.

"But I am not unwilling to make compromise. When Daemupochu passes, he will leave both spirit and husk. I hold no plans nor need for his dry husk, whilst I am somewhat intrigued by what muddy creation you might someday rebirth from such remains. When Daemupochu passes, he will leave two villages. I hold no need for both, when the one in the north would be enough of a cutting to preserve memory of his living legacy."

There is another silence, as if an ebbing tide. A waiting.

While the God-King was still chasing the Red Hunter, the Humans were still trying to bring the the Hard-Tusked Aurodox to heel. Turns out it's also hard to get rid of annoying primates climbing on your back all the time, and so this was used as a technique to pressure the aurodox...as well as appease them by getting rid of tics and the like. This combination of traditional discipline, feeding and coaxing brought even this stubborn breed in line.

The same concept evolves further. Yes, the stone is good for cutting. A more flared, wider, more sturdy stone can cut even wood pretty well. But if you put it on a handle, suddenly a lot more force can be exerted. And so, cutting wood to size is more manageable. Slaughtering becomes easier as well, with such meaty limbs being severed in fewer strokes, and yet quite a few more swings. And then... it DOES also make for a pretty good weapon, especially against more sturdy, more padded beasts. Or...
Now, if only there were a better material than stone. Replacing the heads isn't hard when you have a surplus... yet having it break on you on a trip is rather troublesome.

Yet, traversing the mountains, and as noted in the glade, from one massive tree to another, remains difficult. A gap. A rift. If only one could bridge between... make a connection...
And so a rope hangs between them. Not really useful. So how about two ropes? Maybe some MORE ropes, to make sure the bonds remain firm between them all. And perhaps, for additional ease... a firm surface to stand on. To travel between. Perhaps a few wood planks, those axes certainly come in handy there!

The god's every word ripples across the sea and skies, water droplets vibrating with such precision as to mimic the very burbles coming from Laqura. Lounging as she was in a gargantuan tidepool, the mud serpent could hear the walking cyclone easily enough through every medium that surrounded her, while she herself held a squawking Kosk in hand up to her face like one would a disinterested call in the bath. Though such disinterest did not last long, a ghastly grin spread across her face. "Oh ho? Is that so? You two had prepared to fend off against the harlot as well? Wise, very wise indeed, she would have come to attempt to strike you down in such a similar manner, no doubt. Yes, *yes*, it was meeee, *all me*, who vanquished the eastern barbarian for you and kept both you and yours safe from harm. You may thank me, at your leisure."

The lindwyrm sticks her tongue out several times, testing the air as she ruminates and listens to Laqura continue on. The name of the old rotten oak was of little importance to her and she only barely made an effort to occasionally "hum" in what could be interpreted as positive affirmation to assure she was listening to Laqura's tale. She picks her teeth with one talon as she agrees, "Indeed, that is why I come. Where there is life, there is death, and where there is death, there is me to see it beyond. Of course. *Of course*."

But as Laqura's tale continues on to plans of the future, she sits up, and licks her lips once more. Both of her dutiful wizards soon arrive as the conversation continues on, and she bids them to gather their things before making to depart once more. "Mmmmmm, a reasonable bid, a spark and a village, and a husk and a village. It's people too, I presume. I shall take this tithe gracefully for defending yours and his lands from a wanton slaughterer. But much like you are intrigued of my machinations, I too must admit, I hold deep seated curiosity of... what plans you have in store for such a grand prize as a spark. I have some ideas of my own, that I would be loath to part with, but perhaps if they align, we may... collaborate. In both labor, and benefit."

"Oh, and dear, a word of advice, if you wish to continue to live in these waters and not be ousted elsewhere. I've only the smidgen of feeling from on far, but I can taste his presence and my wizards confirm as much. Another dragon resides nearby. And Dragons, you see, are proud creatures. We are loath to cooperate with any but one we see as equal. And none are as equal to a dragon, than another dragon. You have control over your own amorphous form, do you not? Then take a more becoming visage, such as a sea serpent, perhaps."

Already he could sense them, not so close as to strike but not so far behind as to be unable to catch up should he rest too long, and with the shell around it beginning to fade his prize would not be so easily moved. He would either need to remain here and consume it, which would in all likelihood lead to his death, or turn tail and run, abandoning his prey to others…the god chuckled. Was that even a question? Yesss, he was at his strongest when he followed his instincts, when his mind existed only to facilitate the hunt. If he wished to win, then he would need to go back, to a time when he could place his very existence on the line without a second thought...

As though in response to his wishes, his newly formed organ seems, at least an outside observer, to shut down, the outflow of energy out into the body abruptly ceasing. The truth, however, is far deadlier. After several days, the organ begins to shine with a reddish light that leaks out from between the reptilian scales, a sign of the energy compressing and condensing inside, ready to explode outward and herald to an atavistic, primal transformation…

Though some argue that it goes against the instincts granted to them by their sovereign, the inborn desire to rip into their prey with claws and fangs, most hunters cannot deny the reach advantage these newly created “spears” give to their already tall, lean frames, even if the sharpened stone tips lack the killing efficient of their natural weapons, and it isn’t long before most Wolfmen stalk the alpine forests and frozen wastes with a trusty spear at their side, ready to impale any prey unfortunate or slow enough to enter the range of their long, loping gait. Spears developed.

Your Sharpclaws attack with great fervour…and not much else, the strange door unyielding in the face of their assault, that you can hear faint groans of protest. Perhaps a bit longer…? Portal’s Integrity is now 2/4.
Though some Sharpclaws decry these new weapons as cowardly and “lacking in honour” (What’s honour? Something you can eat? Clearly they’re just jealous), or prefer the sensation of ripping into their prey at a more intimate distance, many make good use of this new form of reach, killing prey that would otherwise have escaped into the undergrowth. Ranged Weapons developed.
Those that prefer a less bloodless hunt, however, find much more use in the newly uncovered art of knapping, honing their stone weapons to razor sharp points and edges capable of slicing through even the toughest hide and bathing the hunters in the blood and viscera they so crave. Knapping developed.

Your entreaties are met with a cacophonous wall of sound as the indistinct shape hovers overhead, though it at least seems to hesitate for a moment before taking action. Legiad’s Obstinance is now 2/3.
Though the Magma Spawn have always been surefooted, they tend to be, well, rather slow in exchange for it, relying on tactics and the homefield advantage to catch prey that is by all accounts faster than them. To rectify this discrepancy in preparation for their journey southward, the Cult of the World Forge bring forth their newest invention, the wheel. Sure, they have no idea how exactly to use this to transport Magma Spawn just yet, but look how quickly it rolls! Wheels developed.
The Order of the First Crucoad, meanwhile place greater stock in the importance of being able to communicate and trade with those they encounter, however long it might take to encounter them. To this end they begin to put values to the minerals produced by their pet Crucoads, learning to argue, bargain, and barter with one another in preparation for the day they must do so with those less familiar to them. Though the suspended platforms require constant upkeep to ensure they do not break down under the weight of the elements in these frigid climes, or become to slick with ice to safely cross, when properly maintained the bridges prove invaluable, cutting what would once have been hours long climbs up or down to a minute or two’s crossing, bridging gaps far beyond what even the most daring leap could achieve. Back in the water, and with prey in its jaws, the gargantuan crocodilian seems less then enthused by your words this time, more focused instead on trying to crack the spiny god now caught within its jaws.
Finding the reptile more interested in your prickly disciple for the time being, you decide to spend your time in this interesting riverside locale training yourself. You have been slacking off a bit lately after all, so occupied with these strange new lands and their inhabitants. Exquisite Technique (1/3) developed.
While training yourself, you also make sure to keep an eye on Heliodos, ensuring that there are no complications or interruptions in her training to master what you can only presume to be a profoundly alien form, from the perspective of a creature that has spent eons as a massive, quadrupedal reptile. Jade Beauty Heliodos (2/?) developed.
Though it might avail them little in the more physical aspects of their training, many disciples find solace in the simple pleasure of composing a good poem. Though some giddily show off their creations to their peers, or compare them to one another, while others recite them with the quiet night sky as their only audience, in every one of its myriad aspects the practice serves the valuable purpose of honing the mind, just as their training hones the body. After several eons of travelling or chaperoning, you feel the need to put your divinity to work and…experiment a bit. Reaching down into the planet’s crust, where you and your people once dwelt in crystalline caves like nothing you’ve yet seen on the surface, you seize upon one particular mineral from your memories, a type of quartz that seems to crackle with unreleased potential. Potential you can shape. Feeling your call, and with its own innate energy bolstered by your own, the minerals begins to expand and grow, branching upward like a great tree until, at last, several pillars of it burst from the bedrock that makes up Onn’s floors, causing several Petrosapiens to jump (not very high, admittedly, considering how heavy they are, but they certainly make a good effort of it) with fright before they’re transfixed by a mineral not seen since the time of their ancestors’ ancestors. Power Quartz created.

Your people at last in safe hands, you focus your efforts on not only increasing your luminescence, but focusing and coalescing it, allowing your light, once concentrated, to extend far beyond the already considerable distance from which it can be seen under normal circumstances. With any luck, they’ll be well worth the trouble. Hard-Tusked Aurodox developed.
And it takes no time at all before your people are able to utilize the hardy beasts to devastating effect. Though their bows are effective weapons at range, they become a dangerous liability if a foe manages to close the distance, a weakness that is by and large dealt with as your people train to fire from atop their sturdy mounts, the massive bovine’s back proving more then adequate to carry several archers well out of reach of anything that might try to seek retribution for their stinging arrows. As your training at last comes to fruition, so too does another of your projects. Infused with your mud, and now armed now with the runes and language of the underworld, your minions are able to impose, in part, a shadow of the abyssal depths on this blissfully ignorant surface world, calling on powers undreamt of on the surface for eons, though it will likely be sometime yet before truly mighty deeds can be worked, with the suns’ glare still dampening the effects. Education System developed.
While theological debate praising their god satisfies those with more intellectual minds, for the masses a different form of worship better serves. "Then though I do not in truth know the extent of the great battle so waged, I thus thank you, Dragon-Queen." Laqura's fluid mass burbles through the ripples in Mortrose' tidal pool.

"Perhaps they may align? I do not and cannot know myself, as you would not know that which I have not told." The ripples churn. "The world in which I find us is full of waters; and they pass well enough upon the land to give rise to tropical atolls, wet forests and bubbling swamps. Yet in my dreams, there could be more." The ripples bounce. "Where I look at the sea, the waters I find seem... unfinished. I have made my Limpid waters as a start, and even they are not yet full-crafted. I wish for fast-flowing channels and stormy reaches and intricate fjords, churning whirlpools and great kelpy shallows. The land, too, I could work upon with crystal springs and pouring falls. I wish for great winding rivers laden with silt, and intricate deltas threading through to the sea. Rains, and fountains... so much to do." The burbling sighs.

"A Dragon?" The statement gives Laqura pause for thought. "I suppose I could shift my mass into a Dragon-like form, if you would not think it offense or parody that I try so to emulate. Come. I shall do so and fly you by, then. Do tell me your opinion of the visage so presented."

And so, Laqura rises from the water after so long, in the form of a Dragon of the Depths made entirely of flowing fluid; a surging serpentine shape that surges toward the remnants of Daemupochu; whiskered with white waters and with shimmering scales that break into water-spray, only to reform once more and glitter with refractions; a rainbow kicked up by the spray of Laqura's trail and the following rain-fall.

>Unit Action [Laqura]: Move to <38,22>.

And as Laqura comes, so Laqura retreats; winding as a river back toward the waters of the watery domain; the form of a frothing tail heralding a wave and a salute to the Lindwyrm. A well educated crop of civil servants is established to govern the Sauria, armies of bureaucrats and ministers reporting to the Chosen and enacting their decrees.

Some of them request that the nation seek additional resources other than Bombacto sap.

Along with a firmly organised method of governance, the Sauria find themselves equipped with a code of laws to abolish certain behaviours and assign criminal punishments for acts that are in opposition to the Teachings of the Sun.

>Preq-Tech: Previous Work on Wisdom of the Heavens, Afterlife, Pantheon, Stabbing
>Resources: Souls, A Connecting Road
> By ensnaring the souls of the dead in webs of thorns and then setting them to the task of teaching those down the long road, the Bodhi tree is able to achieve its mission more easily, at the cost of souls.

The Bodhi tree has grown slowly over the epochs since Huang first willed it into existence as a tiny bonsai tree. Its ambitious mission was to link the Pagoda and Thornshade together, bringing wisdom to the Kikka and the majesty of chamberpots to the disciples of Mount Ao. It now stands as a small tree. Unfortunately it would be many epochs before the tree would grow mighty enough to accomplish its mission.

Hahk, wizard of tsss, has other plans. He plucks a spine of tsss from the ground, an act that would leave any other Kikka with a bloody stump instead of a hand. He carries it over to the young tree, feeling the power within it, the link to his god. He shapes that power, molds it through his own understanding of his god’s light, then stabs it down into the bodhi tree. There is an audible gasp from onlookers, to strike the creation of a god is to invite disaster upon oneself. The spine sinks into the tree, splintering and shredding it. There are audible groans, and curses thrown at the wizard, from a safe distance and well hidden behind others.

Time passes. The magic of tsss seeps into the tree, warping it, changing it. Leagues away its twin also changes, to the growing concern of the disciples, who lacking masters can only watch in terror. But the tree does survive, roots stabbing down deep, branches twisting and forming pale pink flowers surrounded by long wicked thorns. Decades later it is a far cry from its original vision, its curved trunk supporting cages of thorns, and in those cages, visible only to the wizard and the rare few with the gift for such things, are the souls of wayward kikka who have strayed too close to the tree. Hahk addresses them.

“You are snared, and your soul is owed, but freedom can be earned. Travel the road, from here to the temple afar, and carry messages and knowledge and teach what will be taught. A year's service for each prick of the Bodhi tree’s thorns, and you will be free.”

Thus, advanced students would set themselves to training on Jold, rather than already-soft stone.

As the rabble riders left much argument and infighting occurred. Those who remained faithful were known as followers of the old flame whereas those who took the riders words to heart were walkers of the spiked path. As time went on the old flame was pushed deeper into the tunnels as the spiked path faith spread. Abnormally sharp stalactites formed in the tunnels the new faith dominated, till at last they reached the center of the Provenance where Ervenbloud is said to have been born. Sootwalker, a Magma Spawn raised in the traditions of the forest, marched into the chamber. “Generaions ago our people dreamt of spikes. Foolishly the old priests claimed our progenitor was sending a message. But now we know the truth—our god has abandoned us, yet the Sab Lord calls. And today, we answer.” He stabbed a spike left by the Kikka into the ground. On the other end of which was an impaled crucoad that had once belonged to a respected priest. A circle with sixteen lines surrounded it. The new symbol for Tsss. In the deepest tunnels those of the old flame begged for mercy while on the surface Magma Spawn reported the Unhallowed Volcanos produced enough smoke to blacken the skies.

The lindwyrm burbles in contentment, seemingly pleased as such simple praise yet again, "Yes, yes, you are very welcome indeed~." While, as Laqura approaches, Mortrose lounges against the base of Daemupochu and fiddles with some intricate equipment in her talons, turning it over and over again in thought. She hums in agreement, "Hmm, yeeees, so much to do, so much to make. I would turn over the world myself with all new bounties and landscapes myself, my glepnal only a small fragment of which I wish to concoct. I understand your plight to be much in the same as mine. Very well, I had thought to make a fusion of mud and plant, perhaps mangroves or endless springs, but I see you too have a wish to create around these isles, and I am already quite busy besides..." A tongue flicks out in frustration as more time passes.

As the Dragon of the Depths approaches, spinning clouds away in miniature hurricanes and leaving rainbows in its wake, a wicked Cheshire grin spreads across Mortrose's face, and She belts out a rancorous chortle, "Why, my young serpent, imitation is the HIGHEST form of flattery! And Dragons are QUITE partial to flattery. You'll learn more of our ways, in time. But no parody is this, already I find our agreement far more palatable, with such a becoming appearance as yours. Take this tree's spark, I'll see to my own rewards as well. Still, while you've been in transit, I've nearly finished my work here. There is, as we said, still so much to do. And I've a mind to... ingratiate... with our other peer across the channel."

With a single half glance back, the Dragon recedes back into the sea, a wake of silt left in the wake, "I look forward to seeing what colors you paint these isles in, next we meet, young serpent."

Coming up to take roost upon the coastal outcroppings at the northern tip of *Her* isle, the lindwyrm listens as even here she can hear the insentient beating of dunderheads against doorhinges, and civil-disputes between dragon and underlings. Once more, after having dealt with the psychopathic Narcissists and painfully naive daemu, Mortrose was endlessly grateful at the singleminded industriousness of Her own minions. The kosk's squaking notwithstanding...
Still, failings of the Sharpclaw and their master aside, it was high time the two mature dragons meet.

It starts from the gut, where power and spark reside. A deep intonation, as the very earth rumbles and shakes, before a great roar is belted from Her too-wide mouth and directed across the channel towards Her peer.
The common draconic tongue can appear simple, in its deafening utterances and roars, but only to a lesser creature. To a fellow dragon, they are rife with meaning and sonorous flow, Her words carried crystal clear. And so too their smugness. "I see...., these intrusive doors have appeared in your domain as well, Draconic Conquerer. Though, I, the Primordial Lindwyrm of Rebirth, Mortrose, have already de-fanged Mine with simple ease. With wit and will I now hold the keys to one, but, I suppose your means have a certain -simplistic- charm to them as well. How is it going?"

Already expecting offense to Her tone, she continues, "I mean no *disrespect*, my fellow kin, otherwise I would trespass without warrant and show you how it is done," the mudwyrm raises Her arms in placation to go with Her words, though Her voice drips with not a fair degree of superiority. One dragon sizing another up, She could not afford to show difference so easily, "But it begs me to aaaask: Are you -*satisfied*- with such... inefficient means of violence? If you plan to seize the world like one of your stature is ought to, let alone this hunk of wood before you, then... mayhaps I have something of mmm -Interest- for you and yours. While infusing the Rite of Right to the Soul alongside her own divine will into any weapon should in theory provide a way to sneakthief the souls of anyone unfortunate enough to be killed by it, her current arsenal provides an even more robust solution. The Consecrators themselves target and lyse souls out of their bodies, sundering their bindings material or otherwise, while the accretion magic of her wizard allows these soulstuffs to be recompiled back together and be coalesced by the Rite once more - thereby bypassing a good deal of protection or claimant any other gods may have on their minion's immortal souls.

To be a god is to create. This is an immutable fact of all who tred this world. But, as can be seen with the god tree, some create less than others, while... some may perhaps take a shine to minute work that goes perhaps a bit too far. For decades the Lindwyrm, seemingly dozing off in the shade of the tree god's corpse canopy or the shore's tidepools, has been fiddling away at a mindnumbing task. But to her, there is a degree of single minded interest in the deed, watching it develop, and ultimately be vindicated by the results. This weaponry, fashioned from Consecrators and jungle wood, now a little less cumbersome to use by the laymortral (for all the horrors of her reign, let not poor ergonomics be one of them), shall be a pillar of her rule. Of her conquest. Able to steal souls in a far more direct manner and covet them all to herself. Now if only she had a simple minded brute to make mindless use of them...

There, he beholds, Mortrose, and a smile breaks out across his features.

There was a semi-hidden objective to the breeding of Aurodox with especially powerful bones. Specifically the Humans of Arche needed stronger materials to work with but all they had was wood, the odd rocks and other animals' bones. Now that they had the Hardtusk Aurodox however, maybe they would finally see a notable improvement in their tools. They began by using the bones as is to test their strength but found that they were harder and stronger than basically anything they had. This would require them to grind them into shape using each other first, a process that would take a long time...

Kairos, seeing as he couldn't really do anything to aid his Lord yet, walked back towards Arche and contemplated the Humans' current issues. While he had no doubts that they could trade for this one day, Kairos thought farther ahead and put his lore of evolution to use, aiming to grow and cultivate trees with exceptionally moldable genes.

Land sinks beneath the waves, as two forces of nature battle for dominion over the tundra, beneath the horrified eyes of a terrified young man, way out of his depth.

It goes beyond base instinct, as various beasts, large and small, flee the sinking ground, least they become swallowed up by the rising tide. No, the horror is contextual- if the Beast, dancing on the changing surface tension of the water, falls here, however will he complete his search?

Then, unbidden, he thinks of his brother, sinking in those dark, icy depths of the rushing water.

Blind terror. That becomes Writ entire world, as he dives beneath the rising tides, an inhuman whistle ringing between his ears as he falls into rigors of a nightmare reborn.

>[UI] Writ sinks, in a cold, dark embrace. Fueled by irrational instinct, Writ weaves a spell, desperately trying to sing as the icy liquid fills his lungs. Using up his Mana and the aspects of Domination and Change, he develops Ichor Mimicry, using the Children’s taste for salt as the basis for thickening his control of their ichor, and using the local enlightened sealife to search and aid. Though nominally unsuccessful in saving the imaginary figment of his drowning brother, it combined with Ichorized Fishing and Whaling to aid the Beast in his conversion of Arktikana, granting a +1 Conviction due to the deliciousness of the salty ichorous prey.
>Writ is pulled from the freezing embrace by a friendly Marine, the smallest runt of them, and the Children dry and warm him on (40, 2).

>[MA] Ichorous Salt Licks
The Children develop a way of compacting and storing the mineral in a compact, usable form. Using the Ichor in their saliva (and in some… violent cases, blood), they find that it is a great bonding properties for this material. Some of the Children, particularly those of the Mammoth persuasion, attempt this process with the larger, bouncing crystalline ‘licks’, with a shocking degree of success, such as they claim.

>[MA] Rudimentary Mining
The burrowing instincts and abilities of the Children in Whitefall are expanded upon via successive generations of Ichorous Evolution. In particular, an unusual soft mineral begins garnering interest of the more intelligent of the Children, though not to the degree of the salt, for its pliability when wet and its strength when hardened. As more and more of this material in Whitefall gets used, they begin referring to this new mineral as… Clay.

>[UI] [1DI] The singing Beast utilizes Ichor Conversion on Arktikana and moves his dance to (39,1), if only to witness such wonderful change of terrain.

Beautiful. Stunning. Brilliant. Such words pale in comparison to the enormous change happening to the land around the Beast, as it breaks apart into the sea. The shipments of uprooted Elderwood begins to make its arrival from traveling generations of pilgrim Morcair folk, as the wood is wittled and the Chitterlings are commmanded to work the material into the earth, as en concert the new pallisades surrounding their settlements hum in a strange harmony of both tenacity and displacement.

>Rojodaz eschews all divinity, intentionally deluding himself and attempting to transmute the divine energy suffusing his body and spark into Mana. While in this state, Rojodaz is functionally treated as a Primal, losing all Major Actions in exchange for a +1 to his damage and soak, as well as the FV of his Strength and Fortitude. This physical imbalance, however, will prove inevitably fatal for Rojodaz, resulting in his death at the beginning of the third epoch after the transformation comes to pass.

With a growl, the god endures the outpouring of power from the spark, then endures again as blows are rained down at him by all manner of foes. This annoying interference, this noise, that prevents him from reveling in his hunts…he would rather the weakness depart from his body, and leave him only with the violence…

To the hunter’s desire, the power he has accrued responds. The dregs of the two sparks, once dormant within his body, burn back to life, drawing on the excess of divine energy now circulating throughout his body as they begin their work, and his newly developed organ shines with a malevolent red light as it undergoes yet another change. Now, rather than converting Mana to divine energy to preserve his body, a reversed reaction occurs, divine power pouring into the organ at a rate that strains it to its limit before being expelled as an overwhelming outpouring of Mana, an unstoppered flood that violently clashes with the divine energy pouring out endlessly from the god’s spark. Now, however, unconcerned with the consequences, the more warlike of the two spark remnants utilizes the violence of these clashes, transforming them into an explosive power…

It is most evident, at first, in the red, reptilian scales that lend the god his distinct colour. At a rate visible to the eye, they begin to blacken and char in a dozen different places, hardening as though tempered by the violence they contain within even as their cells wither and die. The change begins to spread, until the once vibrantly red god has become an ominous coal black, his long, scythe-like, newly grown talons and blade-like fangs standing out all the more distinctly for the contrast. Then, in a different form, the colour returns…red as blood, like the vitality of life itself, lightning begins to crackle and spark, emerging from within the beast and lending the very air itself a coppery scent of ozone as it devastates the surrounding plantlife a dozen elctrical fires begun by its mere presence. Similarly red mist begins to pour out from its mouth with each exhale, every breath bringing it one step closer to death even as strength beyond strength floods its limbs.

Finally the gentler spark begins its work on the god’s(?) mind. Higher thoughts are cloaked in mist, ushered into obscurity as the hunter’s instinctive reptilian brain and wild instincts are brought to the fore. Slaver begins to drip from the predator’s mouth, though the heat pouring off of its body evaporates it before it even hits the ground, and once sky-blue eyes are stained red as the blood vessels within burst, the beast’s vision becoming tinted as its bloodlust causes it to let out a throaty, ragged roar that echoes with ravenous, savage promise. In its last moments, as its thought flutter away on the breeze, the mental shroud hits an unexpected snag, caught for a moment on a quiet day, when the wild deity watched with annoyance and poorly concealed fondness over the strange little balls of fur that toddled, against all odds, in his wake. Then that last thought evaporates into blood-drenched hunger, and the god is gone, consumed by the beast.

>MA [Develop] Digging & Quarrying
I know i know not the most exciting or adventurous of tech but alas sometimes it's gotta be like that. The ground is literally salt it's just dig, dig, and more digging with the added precaution so it does not all cave in.

The sestans already have experience from digging stones and oltar in the mountains, it's just repurposing that knowledge for salt and sand, and maybe switching pickaxes for shovels. Ah and also maybe using textiles here and there to stock the thing because you can't just push it like a nice rock. the list goes on....

>MA [Develop] Medicinal gardens. Using Orchads & gardening tech and the ashlands.

The Sestans armed with a love of gardening and a passion for cooking discovered many tasty plants that they decided to try and cultivate for added spices in the kitchen. Turn out a side gain was that a lot of those plants are actually good to help when you're sick. Unexpected but welcome result as the little hat men begin to create gardens in earnest to grows those medicinal plants from the ashen soil

GOD ACTIONS
Catarina
You strike at the gargantuan red reptile with your icy magics, though its hide, it seems, is more then capable of availing itself against the cold. Rojodaz’s Vitality is now 15/25.
With their attempts to tame the surrounding wildlife paying off in dividends, your people can afford to experiment with the remnants of their new livestock, with one individual eventually figuring out how to tan the hides under the cold arctic sun, creating a thick, yet relatively lightweight material more resilient than even the thick coats of fur with which your Wolfmen are adorned. Clothing developed.
The material proves similar effective when layered over the shield, another recent invention of those among your Wolfmen who had taken an interest in sparring with their fellows, in the hopes of honing their skill at arms. Though the pine shields are only moderately durable alone, prone to splintering, with a thick layer of leather overtop to cushion incoming blows they at last come into their own as an addition to the Wolfmen’s arsenal. Shields developed.

Drakatron
Finally, under the Saurians’ uncoordinated assault, the massive wooden Portal begins to crumble, wood groaning, warping and splintering as it is robbed of its ability to restore its own weight and the structure topples onto the sandy beach below, crushing a couple of unlucky (or greedy) lizards who fail to get clear. Portal destroyed.
Though your Sharpclaws possess an abundance of viciousness, and a certain low cunning, they are sorely lacking in discipline, as their attack on the door(?) proved. So you set about the task of drilling them to your satisfaction, those who survive your near machine-like standards emerging from the other end grizzled, hardened, and ready to lord their superior discipline, tactics, and skill at arms over their lazier fellows.
Although these northern beasts are as vicious as any that can be found in the humid jungles of your home, they are not, your wizard finds, as vicious as the Sharpclaws, despite their larger size, thicker hides, and deadlier natural weapons. Nevertheless, Star-Eyes concludes, in his (inferior to your own of course) wisdom, that these creatures might, once sufficiently cowed, be turned towards other uses, commanding a contingent of the warriors who have accompanied him to set about the task of taming the creatures? How? Well, that part is up to them to figure out, your lizard wizard has other experiments to do, such as seeing if this wintery northern sun remains as relaxing to bask under. Domestication developed.

Though the creature(?) unsuccessfully continues to bite and gouge at your form, your words cause yet more hesitation, particularly at the great form’s core, which seems to transform into a calm, still eye of the otherwise roiling storm. Whatever its choice, it will almost certainly be decided in short order. Legiad’s Obstinance is now 1/3.
Though the fruits of his labour would not be fully borne until long after his mortal life had expired, Shaper of Writing’s symbolic language, a work of decades to capture every crackled, hissing word of your people’s language in solid form begins to form a bedrock, a foundation on which a new stage in Magma Spawn society might finally form as the symbols disseminate, at first fragmented, then with greater regularity, until at last the symbols are widespread, messages carved into walls and pillars. Logography developed.
Eager to find another outlet for the bartering skills they’ve already honed amongst themselves for several generations now, many Magma Spawn are happy to begin putting their agreements in more physical, concrete terms, especially where larger, more important business dealings are concerned, or when interacting with those they do not altogether trust to be honest. Contracts developed.

Huáng
Finally, jolted from its bloodlust by the overwhelming agony of its would-be prey’s spines piercing the roof of its mouth, the crocodilian is finally swayed by your words, spitting out your prickly disciple with a grumble of pain and disdain before rising back to the surface, cold, reptilian eyes assessing you as they await your commands. Zaraave converted.
Although it pushes even the arts of your disciples to their utmost limits, the dull yellow ore that can be found in the depths of the mountain on which your sect is situated makes for the perfect final test for a disciple’s palm or fist arts. Are you possessed of anything less then perfect mastery and control, the sheer density of the metal is enough to reduce a disciple’s hand to a mess of cuts and fractures. Thus, in turn, if one can scoop away at or pierce the ore, then there is no doubt to be had that they have reached the apex of the art. Diamond Fist developed.
Though these sun-dried rations are somewhat lacking in taste compared to their fresher counterparts, and tough to chew, many of your sect’s disciples simply treat the sturdiness of their meals as a new form of training. Some even develop a taste for the rations, and however chewy these new rations might be, they’re certainly preferable to the fasts that had preceded them during the leaner months of the year, when your disciples were less successful in their attempts to procure food in the sparse conditions. Sun Drying developed.

As you take in the once fruitful and vital tree deity’s spark the water that surrounds your own sizzles and boils, a small portion of it even evaporating under the strain, though thankfully you’re able to draw in the surrounding moisture of the humid, leafy jungles of the arboreal god’s demesne to ensure you do not suffer any serious loss of mass before you fully assimilate the outpouring of power. Spark consumed.
Though some innovation might yet need to be made, to adapt this pottery to an underwater environment, in the less waterlogged portions of your people’s settlements these pots and utensils are put to good use, allowing your people to store food, water, and other goods without cluttering up their domiciles. Some even take to storing live fish within the sizeable vessels, either for pets or later consumption. Pottery developed.

Laurelios
Fascinated by the newly changed trinkets, which sparkle with a light unrealisable without that spark of divinity, your people fight over them with an almost rabid desperation, and though they acquiesce once the jewelry can at last be said to be possessed by another, their eyes follow those adorned with an uncharacteristically focused jealous for the otherwise scatter-minded Shades.
Though wood makes for a fine enough building material in most regards, it certainly lacks in sturdiness and longevity, at least when compared with stone. Thus, with an excess of lumber already diffused throughout the village, the Shades begin to focus their efforts instead on gathering a greater quantity of stone, embedding it into the foundation of their definitely-not-mausoleums, so that they might better endure the ravages of time. Stone Gathering developed.
MoleOP (ID: kxcPWMMk) No.6320517 [Report] >>6323986
Lithic
Though its craftmanship leaves a great deal of room for refinement, the primitive cart’s sturdy materials allow it to bear an impressive amount of weight for its size, and though pulling the cart along with a full load is no easy task, it is still a sight easier then the several trips Ignuous once had to make. Seeing the convenience the inventor is able to derive from his creation, several of his compatriots approach him with questions about how he made the contraption, knowledge he is more then happy to provide. This is, of course, nothing more then a prelude to the hand-cart’s rapid spread throughout Onn. The Wheel developed.
Though the hand-carts are very convenient, they are nevertheless very limited, at least at first, by the roughness of Onn’s terrain. While some parts of the massive cavern are more flattened out, to allow for larger buildings, in other sections the ground remains craggy and rough. It is, after all, little inconvenience for your geomantic people. For the carts, however, it is a fatal obstacle. So, many of your people begin to cooperate, utilizing their stone-bending abilities over the course of weeks to create a set of sufficiently smooth, albeit narrow, paths on which their hand-carts can traverse. Primitive Roads developed.

Makrópnoos
With the Ice Queen joining rank in piling upon the Red Reptile, one after another you and your cohort drive fist, steel, and magic into its bruised, scaled body. Rojodaz's Vitality is now 11/25.
ἰσχύς waxes poetically over the hairy Onzabra, as the fierce critters find themselves faced with a creature of far greater threat than their standard hunt. Though they devote their lives to the might of Rojodaz, never once has the scaled deity paid them mind. Now faced with a creation of divinity face to face, many remain confused whether such a being could best their muse, but it would be deceptive to say receiving such direct attention does not fascinate them. Exettakal converted
Stripping the hardy flesh and sinew from the mighty bones of this breed of Aurodox, the Humans of Arche would find a material of greater toughness and durability than any bone yet seen. Though durable, the material remains fairly difficult to shape and mold as one could with a metal. As is, the material would prove equidistant in martial effectiveness between Oltar and Syrconite. Sklēros Bones developed.

To this end they put their hard-earned knowledge of their prey’s habits and haunts, as well as their savviness with their hands to use, creating basic traps to snare and kill prey for them. Aided by the boy, your song at last seems to bring a measure of calm to the massive cetacean’s territorial rage, allowing the Ichor to do its work. As it begins to slowly drift, its enraged, sonorous warsong slows and softens, become a low, rumbling hum not unlike a purr at it eyes you, awaiting your requests or commands. Arktikana converted.
Armed with these new, compressed salt licks, your people’s ability to convince their wilder fellows ascends to yet another plateau, the licks proving a tempting gift for the unwary that allows the Ichor to more easily infiltrate their systems and begin their enlightenment. Provided of course, that your own people do not reduce the licks to nothing in the meantime. Salt Licks developed.
Though it distinctly lacks in tastiness, some among your people simply enjoy playing with the oozing new material, molding it into fanciful while wet before allowing it to dry, becoming a more enduring display of their…unique aesthetics and craftsmanship. Other children, however, see the potential…Rudimentary Mining developed.

Meanwhile some Magma Spawn desired to tell time. Being a mostly subterranean race made the usage of sun dials a poor choice and while the usage of water clocks is considered, most Magma Spawn have an aversion to water that led to the idea quickly falling out of fashion however they do inspire a similar device. They would create a vessel made of basalt and fill it with magma. Said magma would drip out of a hole at the bottom, typically into another bowl though some were situated above natural magma pools. As the magma went down markings on the inside could be used to tell time based on how low the magma was.
>[MA] Develop Flowkeeper
Still this new invention presented its own problem. They didn’t have enough basalt to make a large number of them. Thankfully the more clever of their kin were able to devise a solution. When a natural source of basalt was found they would rapidly heat up the stone typically with fire though it wasn’t uncommon for some to just use their own body heat. Once heated the bravest or healthiest Spawn would collect water from underground streams and use it to rapidly cool the basalt. This process would crack the stone making it easier to mine.

Something stirs in the bramble forest. The spines of tsss have weathered in the long years, parts of them slowly disintegrating into the ground. But no living thing can sup on the tower of tsss and be unchanged, and so something new begins to grow and writhe in the forest.

An enterprising Kikka has invented something new! A sharpened bone with a hole on one end, with a rope attached! The ‘Meteor Stabber’ is widely agreed to be an amazing, if somewhat finicky weapon. Unfortunately all practitioners of it end up stabbing themselves in the face with it, so the Kikka develop sewing instead.

>When the Mount Ao Sectmaster ability is performed on a primal, it costs an MI instead of a UI. However, it can still only be used once per turn.
It is challenging to train on a technique that requires another's participation. Just as challenging it is to truly know someone, enough to spar with their shadow as one envisions it, rather than as it would be.
Challenging, yes. But not impossible. Not for Huáng, disciple of the Glow, sectmaster of Mount Ao.
It is so, that sectmaster Huáng abandons the challenging. The challenging is easy, trivial, only a matter of time.
He instead goes for the impossible. To train the technique on all possible partners. Not by finding and applying, but by conceiving of every possible move, and producing a reaction, a counter, a prod, a pull, and a finishing strike.
He sits in meditation, and allows his mind to produce a universe of possibility, and then an archive of a solution for every possibility. Lizard, crocodile, duplicitous dog and spiky ball. Worm, bird, fish, dragon, rooster, and more still that could be conceived. And some that could not be conceived.
He had time, for-

To the patriarch went all spoils, for to him one paid all dues. It is he whom granted you life, bread, and roof to lay under, and it is he to whom all you own is owed.
To the mother went all thanks, for it is hers the most thankless of tasks. Three seasons she carried you, three half-stems she cared for you, and three lifetimes can you repay her with, no less.
To the elder sibling went all respect, for they are your senior who paved the easy path you now tread. Their wisdom is invaluable, earned with blood on your behalf, they share it with a laugh.
To the younger sibling went all care, for they are the future that may outstrip you, and they are the seed for which this garden exists. Nurture them with kindness, but spare not the rod, for ruthlessness can be a mercy.
To the old ancestor, peck like chickens, for it is he whom begot all you see. The due of the patriarch, the thanks of the mother, and the respect of the elder sibling, and more to him you pay.

The God of Growth has departed. Though engorged with the fallen spark, Laqura still weeps at that, as if tears were any much different from the other water continually falling from Laqura's form. All the projects that might have been formed in the future that will never be. To that end, Laqua finds determination to use the Spark of the fallen divine for one last act of Creation. In the Gagi grove, upon the terrain of Daemupochu's own creation, Larura calls for a spring to burst fourth, fed by the waters of the lush rain that fall and filter through the soil only to continually cycle. Let the waters of this spring be transmuted by the divine efforts and providence of two Gods, and as powerful in their potency as this effort and the expended soul of a god shall allow. Let these waters of growth boost every aspect of vitality; let those who sup from them grow strong and healthy and virile, happy, clear-headed and resilient.

And since said waters will be emerging in the form of a fountain, the Plumbing Wizard Luigi arrives to help oversee the process, and add his little support in any needed way if at all he can do so.

A new chapter is written, but not by the Sauria. It is written directly by Arkatassus, describing the heroic and slightly edited triumph of Arkatassus over Quarenicis, the great battle in the glass desert, finishing by heralding the coming of a new age, an age of circuits and metal and stranger things yet.

The text is oppressive to the Sauria, filling their brains with new instructions which seem not entirely coincidentally to relate to the Nanites which now inhabit their bodies. Sauria who internalise the lessons of the Circuit Century grow an understanding of how to manipulate their internal nanites, able to make small cosmetic changes to themselves, transfer nanites between Sauria and cultivate the development and evolution of their own nanites, slowly but surely.

Still the effects of the nanites are tiny, and the Sauria have no real concept of what nanites are (believing these gifts instead to be a form of religious magic that the faithful can summon, and not a bunch of tiny robots).
Even still, they shall evolve, slowly but surely.

A heap of tubes slung mountainwise, dangling, o'er precipitous doom, calcified, not in motion, naught devised. There was a sputtering on that spark within. Creative hunger drove gnashing by irration, lack of substance manifested in wake of mistakes long since made. Never to be unmade. Paths untrodden, not again known nor be they fumbled.

Ejpto'Jsjt creaked, brass shaking dust. Fallen far behind. Too far for availing, soon to be ailing. Insolence reigned. Fleeting temptation... Niggling and puncturous, a sliding dearth of sensation beckoning tired limbs to slump in hollow crust of this land and forget. To become part of this landscape. No less, nevermore. Others unlike it by leagues and leaps, and bounds had risen high, and higher yet by ekesome minutes melding into millennious eons. Stronger, wiser; those left were diligent, seeking industry, seeming in splendour.

A trajectorious throng in array against itself, springing ever greater, ever grander in its contrast. Those tubes slung and did nothing, for so verily inextricably long. Ejpto'Jsjt grew weak, and yet its spark was not plucked out- was not dashed- was not dined. Nor was pressure forthcoming. For what purpose? For a first in many ages, Ejpto'Jsjt wondered. Was it pity, seeing no triumph in gain without hazard? Was it distance, preferring their strange familiar to audiophagius banquet?

Was it curiosity, listening, ears earthward, at an exoticism all that muchly more entertainsome through contrast? It mattered not. In any being, that brute hadn't reached it yet. It shifted, blowing effluvium through its tubes. Flinging, sputtering, Ejpto'Jsjt returned to a semblance of life. Far behind, nevertheless, it stumbled, dizzy and fumbling, searching low for substance.

Diligentuous fiddling, fibbing, fobbing bore results. In striving to awaken their idol, Zischenspawn found that in crowding together, amalgamating their noise could carry it yet further. While they had designed the means to create the bones and use them, it wasn't like they had many of them given that the focus was on figuring how to get the bones out relatively intact to begin with. Now that the Humans had worked the process a bit more, they could start farming the aurodox for them, setting aside pens specifically for Hardtusk Aurodox to do so

MA2: Sklēros bone working, general tech, equivalent to Oltar Metalworking but with Sklēros Bones

As they farmed the Hardtusk Aurodox for their bones, the humans obviously began to form them into tools. At first they needed to use the raw bones against each other to really work them properly, along with a host of reagants, but things started going much smoother once they had proper Sklēros tools. To say that it was on improvement on their previous animal bone and wood and stone tools would be an understatement, it seemed like nothing could truly resist the effectiveness of them for too long and eventually they began to become standard.

Perhaps the difficulty lies in finding the right word. Yet it rings true. Everything is a chain, to one extent or another. If not bound directly, then through links.

It's a great idea, yet... it does require a lot of wood. For now, the Glade is plenty enough.

You. Who goes. Who dares. You, who treads the north. Who brings strife. You pursue the beast. Why? Why bring your terrors to the north? Why chase that which runs? Why, or why, is it that you bring chaos wherever your kind bounds? Crave you violence? Crave you domination? Is it power, corrupting, that makes you act in such a manner? Or art thou... merely a terror of the south yourself.
Speak, tell, pray, of your 'foresight', which left you in my holds. Thine craft, by which you hunt. I know of this beast. I know its nature.
Yet what compels you to end it here?

"Civilized, yes! You too do me some solace with your own countenance, Conqueror. Mine first encounter with another of divine make was... as equally as irksome as yours with the door. It is a sound for sore ears to meet one of more rational thought." The lindwyrm's eyes, shrivelled and un-used to use, squint and spy the Steel Dragon's own fortress atop the primal shell. A single tongue licks the air for a moment before nodding, "Indeed, my own throne has seem misuse with my time abroad, I shall have to take pointers from yours to reach a more presentable state."
>>6320605
"But! There is something to be said for taking far afield and seizing that which you cannot otherwise take! Tell me, I wish for some... more mundane knowledge, in a sense, to enable my servants to ever greater heights, and to enable ever more effective methods of seizure. What would you like, in turn?"

A single kosk flaps its pitch wings across the skies, hoisting a bizzare glowing contraption, before coming to a idle circling around the garrison's peak. The creature squawks once before diving down, and laying waste to a patch of sand with a crab scuttling atop it. A searing blue beam streaks out and turns the crab, as well as several square feet of sand around it, into.. nothing. "I've been, in my spare time, working on this contraption for war. It still has some work to be done and kinks to iron out, but it'll be far and a way more effective than any other in this world could potentially field for some time. Not to mention a pack of...surface hounds equally suitable for militant purposes."

"I'd offer partnership, and provide arms for your men to take on the world in exchange for knowledge seized. However..." The kosk and Lindwyrm turn their head at the sound of the finally collapsing door structure. "Perhaps, I have recently realized, another offer I could give unto you, instead. You've bested your door, but I believe I could seize mine this very moment. If you're so inclined, perhaps you would care to join me, bring your merry men and wizard, and we can lay claim to the very source of these portals for ourselves."

You may have use of my minion for this endeavor, but do try to return him in one piece. Not every day one gains access to a mana spring, you understand."

At Drakatron's subsequent command, The previously idle Star-Eyes journeys to the foot of the garrison, then boards a boat and hops across the short channel separating the dragon gods.

"I shall hope our wizards are not to disappoint. Wait but a moment."

Lil bit of movement-claim fuckery going on this turn. Pic related.
>Major: [Claim] [DI] - Claim the Syrconite Ore Mountain hex with 2 claims <31,24>, the Door's <35,23> reef hex (structures block claims, but constructs don't, and it's been subverted to some extent regardless), and after moving, Dameupochu's settlement's hex within half speed distance <38,25>.
>Unit Action [God]: Carry Star-eyes on her back, Move to <35,23> and drop star eyes off to help with the Gate. Continue on to <36,25>
>Unit Action [Kentrose]: Move to <35,23>

Across the southern isles, the underworld takes further hold. Eerie pools, rougher rocks, and hanging fog soon proliferate across iron topped mountain peaks, Coral reefs, and bountiful forests.

>Major: [Create Structure] [1 mana] - Gate of Hell - on <35,23>. A massive runic arrangement built around and for the explicit purpose of The Door's Portal located in the very center. With the portal already picked and sealed, this structure is to fully take over the use of said portal for those with the acumen to do so. An astral-flavored wizard may, with the use of UI, movement, and a Mana, open the gateway for all other units without the use of their UIs for the turn. ...The current destination is still hard locked to Door's hub, for better or worse.
Using: Wizard Domains - All three of the relevant ones, two astral flavored and the corruption wizard's to fill in the gaps; Tech - Wyrm's Will, Glepnal Stoneforging Accretion Scrawl; Resourecs - Glepnal Mud, Clay, Furnleum, wood and textile and pallipods for taste, The already compromised portal itself as the keystone.

Laden with tablets of wyrmscrawl of their initial findings, Kentrose returns to the mysterious door at the behest of her Lady. Here, with another strangely in-tune wizard of a more reptilian and avaricious ilk upon her Lady's back, the two begin working on a grand outer-structure with which to house the otherworldly door within. While she is proficient in the obfuscation of space, and Brothersadman in the means of forcible entry, it is Star Eye's knowledge of all things spacial that truly let them crack the code of their findings and put theory into practice. Brick and glepnal stone are etched with winding wyrmscrawl and hardened by the hottest kilns of the world. Steadily fashioned in concentric rings and pillars flowing outward from the Door, their purpose is to not only finally chain and control the mysterious structure itself, but to provide a way to channel vast quantities of spacial magics and otherwise poorly understood (to all by star eye's) gravitational and reality waves into a single point for far less effort. This should not only allow the dragons ease of access to the portal itself, but at a more effective rate with a bit of knowhow and mana pumped in to the effort.

>Respawn in Lake of Communion

The focused minds of the Listeners tune wearily on the visions of Theobald and his battle, observing with great terror as the red beast mutates and hatches a crimson behemoth of colossal talons and fangs, and in but an instant later these visions would fade and recede to observe another rebirth: infinitely smaller, more helpless, and innocent: The Fifth Vessel.

So it would seem, the Faith of the Whisper works in mysterious ways. Ripped from the rippling wake of a accoucheur's tender gauntlets, is the troubled fate of our new Vessel. The birth of a Vessel is never a nonpartisan occasion, and by the folded myceliac pages it is known, the folk of the Great Houses are not to interweave, especially naught come the time of birthing a speaker. This child's birth is thanks to both Nelyth and Yros. A forbidden love between young noblefolk of the two houses, an impossibility is gifted to the Lake of Communion. Within the spore clouds of home, whispers of such a fact do not go unpunished by the militia of Vaelith, though these rumors continue to stir behind closed doors, and far extents of Oltar Town and the Eastern Reach. As rumors stir, so does the truth muddy, as some whispers claim Reymnd was born to House Morcair to complete the cycle, as one vessel has been born to a separate house each prior except Morcair, and this drama was stirred as a plot by House Nelyth to remain in power. Some believe that Reymnd is true born to House Yros, and House Nelyth constructed this ordeal to claim the Speaker themselves. Regardless, one truth remains constant: House Nelyth, Keepers of the Lake, have taken ample advantage of their opportunity come the unexpected birth of the lowborn Theobald Nelyth.

Reymnd the Visionary, raised estranged from his forsaken parents, under the guidance of House Nelyth's elite. Hoisted by the training of a knight and conquerer, but gifted in the cunning of Yrosi, Reymnd is contemplative, outlandish, decisive.

"The pleasantries of whispers beyond the Myceliac, and the putrid aromas of their greenery, weeds, and glades, is unkempt of those belonging to our faith. Their exposure to blue skies, a breath dry of The Whisper's spore... It breeds an adoration of our new, unarmored, kin of the 'God King'. A lesser filth that understand little in the ways of the civilized. The lack of conviction Theobald held is potent, as any faithful would remedy this the moment The Whisper claimed their soul."

Life sprouts from their swaddles, rebirthing from a blanket of sewn hyphae that pour outward a tsunami of seafoam spores that consumes the glades.
The metamorphosized life of these regions continue to thrive as normal, now adopting a Sporeology much like the Listeners themselves. Infuriated by the destruction of your oldest servant, construct or no, you grant the more martially inclined god’s feed a paradoxical mix of slipperiness and surefootedness, so he might chase down the creature and finish it off. Geada slain.
Though many find the greens to be disagreeable to their palates, or dislike the tedious work of tilling the cold, hardened soil when compared to the thrill and bloodlust of the hunt, with their undeniable value as a table food source alongside the herds some are able to dedicate themselves to consistently growing the plants. Agriculture developed.
Though little more then wide-bottomed canoes, the crafts are nevertheless stable enough to carry your wolfmen some distance from shore and out into the frigid seas, where they find an abundance of fish shoals on which they can test the accuracy of their spears. Fishing Boats developed.

Drakatron
Embarrassed by their ineptitude in destroyed the stationary wooden adversary, your Sharpclaws devise a means by which to best such a foe, should one darken their door(heh)step once again. And how better to combat a construct made of wood then with yet more wood, treated and fire hardened so that the log’s blunted end might be hammered home with enough force to splinter even the sturdiest construction! Battering Rams developed.
Of course, while your people want the glory of besting their wooden nemeses, they certainly don’t want to have to deal with lugging the large, wooden rams necessary for the job around all day. That’s a job far better suited for their furry, broad-shouldered, newly-tamed menials! Beasts of Burden developed.

Why right over there a flock of birds are falling from the sky in sheer happiness! Choruses developed.
With proper dwellings at last established, and a more unified voice trumpeting forth for any creature (un)fortunate enough to hear it, a true community can finally be said to be forming, and just in time too, as the Zischenspawn are overjoyed their orchestral centerpiece once again roused to wakefulness! Your Vitality is now 19/25. Legiad’s Patience is 0/3.
Though cumbersome, and too large to install into most personal dwellings, these devices serve as an excellent communal way of keeping track of the time, considering the large subterranean, component of your Magma Spawn’s daily lives. Flowkeeper developed.
To facilitate the creation of more of these time-keeping devices, one of your people comes up with an ingenious way of more easily breaking down the stone that makes up most of their tunnels, and with much less of the marring, messiness, and inconvenience that your people once had to put up with when simply melting the stone out of the walls. Fire-Setting developed.

Thoroughly unenthused by the idea of having to fight, the ursine nevertheless seems to ponder your words, a gleam of intelligence in its eyes as it stares lazily up at you from the spot where its bound. Until, that is, it feels like bindings at last begin to weaken. Jollibom’s Obstinance is now 1/3.
Unfortunately, distracted by your efforts to dissuade the great beast, your attempts to imbue your people with knowledge and magic more in line with the bonds over which you preside once again fizzles out. Bond Harvesting Develop Spell failed, 1 DI refunded.
Still, while your more divinely inspired developments do not come to fruition, your people continue to develop on their own, erecting sharp wooden palisades around the length and breadth of the Gladebound’s section of the Bondsglade, to ward off the predators that stalk the alpine forests. Palisades developed. Stockades developed.
Similarly, feeling their carpentry skills much improved by the experience constructing the walls, some take to building crude watchtowers at various points along the wall. Though these amount of little more then raised wooden platforms for the time being, they allow the Gladebound to peek over the wall and keep a wary eye on the treeline, ensuring that even those rare creatures that could clear or demolish the sturdy wooden wall will not catch your people off-guard. >Preqs: Knapping, Rope, Sablewood
> The Kikka begin more formally tending to the Thorntrees of their homeland, removing weaker less stabby trees in favor of stronger more stabby trees, and tending the trees so they produce higher quality Sablewood as a result

Tik-kik is a strange Kikka. This is an impressive feat all on its own, in a species of neurotic lizardmen whose entire civilization exists in a bizarre Stockholm syndrome relationship with a god best described as a natural disaster, strange behaviors tend to be the norm. The Kikka have no word for mental illness, just as fish have no word for water. Nonetheless, Tik-kik is weird, for Tik-kik likes to stare at trees. For hours on end the young Kikka will stare at a thorn tree. Then, with a heavy leather cloak to protect him, he reaches out with a stone knife and cuts, removing a branch here, or a twig there. Over the course of ten years he shapes a dozen trees into the outlines of a group of dancing kikka and thorides. Everyone agrees that this was bizarre, and weird behavior. Another less weird Kikka hacks one of the trees down. Tik-kik does not react.

Ten more years pass. Tik-kik shapes more trees, pruning here, scraping away fungus or rot there, working with the burning intensity that only the truly strange can muster. Thorn trees grow straight for the first time, bound in place with ropes staked into the ground. They grow larger, and healthier than ever before. And most of all they grow sharper than ever. Tik-kik shapes spears from them, then stabs the kikka who destroyed his tree ten years ago. Everyone agrees that it really is a fine spear, made from fine wood. Tik-kik takes on some apprentices, who now stare at trees as well.

>Develop [MA] - Greater Thoride Husbandry
> A general tech where the Kikka begin breeding and selecting for better thoride mounts, developing more specialized breeds for labor, travel, and combat by engaging in yearly thoride festivals.

There are few pleasures in a Kikka’s life. There is a hot meal, lightly salted for flavor. There is impressing a young lady kikka with healthy scales. There is stabbing one enemy, and watching their spines perforate another enemy. But for a few, there is the wind in your face as you cling to the back of a great thoride as it tries to buck you off wildly. If a kikka selects a mate based on their power and prowess, why not do the same for greater thorides? And speed isn’t everything after all, some thorides are tamed to haul back sacks of hunted meat, or salt, or whatever else a kikka might want to grab. Soon there are competitions to select the fastest thorides, and competitions to find the strongest thorides, and it takes little time for it all to become a yearly festival where the next generation of greater thoride is selected.

>MI: Trade with the Listeners using the Myceliac Relay. Trade Heavy Animal Labor

The Humans were much surprised to see a hole open in the middle of Arche, as a matter of fact they well near crushed the skull of the Listeners coming in until they were stopped by a nearby Tamer, reminding them that Makrópnoos wished peace and trade with the strange spore-using people. Indeed, the listeners were there to install something akin to magic for the Humans, long range communications!

It takes a bit to understand it, but eventually expert Tamers use it to teach the Listeners about how to use to tame and use large animals like Aurodox or perhaps Magnolopes to transport large amounts of material. How the humans had managed to get something as stubborn and massive as Aurodox to listen to them enough for this would no longer be a secret.

>MA1: Establish Trade Route(Doing my part)

With the Myceliac Relay, their Godking's old mandate and and a very wide tunnel linking the two civilizations, it didn't take long before an enterprising Humans decided he wanted to do a cultural exchange and so he strapped a lot of local goods to his Aurodox, like Skleros bone tools. What interested him more however was their apparent sentience and regenerative capabilities, which could be engineered into many a uses...But he'd have trouble doing it alone.

A squirrel runs up to Greg, stands on its hind legs, opens its mouth and relays a rather eccentric message: ''Greetings Ser Greg! I am Kairos the Eternal and I bring you this message in the hope that you will assist me, for you see I am preoccupied by a project involving the creation of a self-rearranging wood to make walls with. For this however I am using Elderwood trees and my own species of trees to make them more malleable. Specifically I am cross-breeding them, however as you know trees take a much longer time to grow to full maturity and so I believe that your field of study would be quite perfect for this endeavor. Come if you care! You will not be disappointed!'' The squirrel then bulges and explodes.

The right composition of Water in the sand will make it just damp enough to hold together better without washing it apart. Ervenbloud has learned the hard way how easily primals can lose their patience. Not wanting to ever again run into a situation in which he could no longer reason with a beast he wished to tame, he sought a method to calm them. First, he worked on producing a gentle warmth so the heat of the earth could comfort those he interacted with. Still, it was not enough. He knew most sought warmth but suspected creatures like Legiad were only agitated by heat and would only be soothed by the cold. While most would assume this to be a problem for him, what many, even his own spawn, often failed to realize was that while his blood burned, his breath cooled. The plume produced by his magma can block not only the sun’s light, but its heat as well. In a godless world volcanos could cause a little ice age. Of course, as a creature of earth and fire he would never allow that. Still, the cooling effects meant even the temperature had to follow his will.
>[MA][DI] Begin developing ability The Magma Pulse 1/?. Mechanical intention: allow Ervenbloud to recover a unit's patience by one.
In the caverns the Magma Spawn felt something was wrong, but none were sure what. For weeks nightmares haunted them but would be forgotten soon after waking. They searched for a cause or solution, but none could be found, until one day a prophet vanished. The tunnel he called home was searched and though he was never found the wall by which he always slept was altered. From ash and grounded up dirt and stone was made a picture of their injured God. Many didn’t believe it but those who did finally had a dreamless sleep. Thus spread the blasphemous truth among all the Spawn. The molten lord bleeds.

Kentrose, the Great (Lesser) Lindwyrm with a pitch black skin of space flecked with stars and nebulae, nearly topples over as the door opens. Casting countless half-finished slates hither and dither, she quickly coils around like a snake eating itself or a shifting cloak of starlight, before rising rightside up and peering her head down at the diminutive Sestan. Clearly, with its wide-brim hat and void of an apperance disrupted with only two lights, this was another wizard sent to talk peer-to-peer with Stareyes and herself.

"Fascinating, so there indeed is others beyond these doorways, besides the divine presence... and to cross so freely, I'll have to study this further." The armed-snake slithers closer, examining the doorway more so than the sestan, though not so close as to bite. Probably. Her glossy beady eyes peering in concentration before lowering back down at the presumed wizard. "And who might be this Door? Your god? As you can see-" She gestures with her tail at the looming angry mechanical dragonkin and the distant mound of mud slowly meandering its way south, "Our Gods appear here too, and wish to... discuss? Things with your own. Depending on their own temperament."

"And tampering? Hah! Why, we have *improved* this portal, if I dare say so myself." the Lindwyrm raises her head and puffs up her throat in pride. "From a simple rift in reality, to a fully functioning apparatus for facilitating travel, has *your* god, or you as a wizard yourself, made such efforts in the strives of efficiency and effectiveness?"

From afar, a deep rumbling through the earth is felt. As the very soil, wet with seawater and murky as it is, bubbles forth, "There could be further expansion of such devices, further improvements upon these structures. For a price, Space God. Along with not meeting an early grave at our ease-of-ire, how does one such as yourself feel about... permitting our *exclusive* use of your networks?"

A paltry swell of half-bowls and directionless merriment, civitudinously fumbling a sport they didn’t know was possible to play. Rules did not suit Ejpto’Jsjt well. Structure was not a thing to adhere to- this realm was odd and stiff and dull and droll and so very slow, so very seldom to dance to its own tune- rather: Structure was a thing to flout, to sing and play and shout upon, to in-so-trampling lend this e’erbounding rhythm yet even fuller, even fiddlier than e’er it could have been afore or then or since.

Structure was a wonderful thing. Of contrast! Of caterwalling! Of bitter, burdenous, baseless convulsions which came upon those vying against those tiny thousand-odd and thensome little inconveniences thereof, rendered that much moreso-over in their fleetness of absence! All of this and less did Ejpto’Jsjt reckon upon. Purpose was not a treasure found in so-looking, but a figment faster whereby was it stumbled. Huáng's responsibility had been clear from the start. Enlighten, teach, and guide out of the cycle those that can be.
Less clear was the path. Murkier still was the distinction between those that could be guided out of the cycle, and those that cannot be.
The god of decay, falsehoods, and symbiosis was open to his message. So too was the god of the concept of stabbing. Simplistic and facetious, yet both showed an eagerness he would not have ascribed to their ilk.
Heliodos the sedantry, Zaraave the brutish, both accepted his gift. The cunning mongrel did not.
The willingness to learn was unrelated to the capability to learn. Does that exclude those incapable from his destiny?
Nay.
So he would set a path to enlighten those formerly incapable of enlightenment. Grant them the chance to become more, greater, better than they ever could have been elsewise.
The pill condensation and extraction process had been perfected, or so one would have thought. But perfection was an impossible goal, an ideal to chase, and never reach, not within the cycle.
If vital Yin could be extracted, refined, purified, why could it not be empowered, and returned? Why must the harvest be a zero sum game, of winner and loser, rather than winners both?
So it is that the meditation of two epochs caused a breakthrough in understanding and comprehension, of universal laws made to be broken, and ones yet to be made still.
The vital Yin extraction would hold within it a spark, much like a divine's, of essence rather than echo, equal to strength of the being it was extracted from.
The vital Yin extraction could be cycled into a refinement, and as a god would be empowered in minor ways, a primal would be empowered in awe-inspiring ways.
The vital Yin extraction would shave off, purify a core weakness of a primal, for form leads function, and form need not be hideous when it could be pleasant to eye and soul.
So it shall be.
