>>81477333 (OP)Every gymbro I know is an educated dude who makes good use of their time. One tuns painting classes and the stuff he does blows my mind. Another is in several local bands. A third can actually talk about writing on my level with me. A lot of them have degrees.
I don't know where this idea that a healthy body and a healthy mind ate mutually exclusive came from. Probably tabletop RPG's. But the reality is that the mind is part of the body. Humans are not meant to live lying down in boxes all day. We are meant to exercise daily. The process of building your body and maintaining it involves giving your body all the things it needs for healthy function, which means giving your mind what it needs for healthy function in turn. A fitter body means a sharper mind. This was actually the thing that surprised me the most about lifting - when I started doing it regularly, I suddenly found myself thinking faster and with greater clarity than I had in years.
Here's a fun one to try. Take audiobooks to the gym with you and listen to them as you work out. Build your mind at the same time you build your muscles.
