>>81482333It was just a little board game club at the local library. We had the endorsement of the district, so we'd have our own space in the center. I did end up boosting the traffic of the library, funnily enough.
We'd play a boardgame that could work with 5-8 people, and have a good time for a couple hours. I would almost always bring some dessert I'd baked in, and people would bring chips and stuff sometimes. The library was fine with it, because we'd clean up after ourselves (and I would 'bribe' the librarian with a piece of whatever dessert I'd brought).
None of the friendships lasted after high school. It was fun while it lasted, and I remember it fondly.
(It was also 50/50 on gender, and NOT just a bunch of smelly guys being nerds. Everyone was kempt)
