Aquired taste, takes a while. Try a german beer, that shit is amazing. I got a 30 pack of random german beers to try once and it changed me.

for some reason the beer that has the reputation of being "bitter" and unpleasant has the sweetest and fruitiest flavor

Most alcohol is bad and poor quality, made for getting drunk on and even if its not alcohol taste is a very specific thing. you're not going to like the first beer you try, you might not even like beer certain palate's like different flavors women and children for example tend not to like the bitter flavors in beer.
