It does suck and it sucks even more growing up poor and being told to make sacrifices and go without... just to watch the parents get money AFTER the kids are all grown up and then saying they're adults and don't need/shouldn't receive help...

My entire life is just a poverty trap and I'd work my way out of it if anyone actually provided the type of wage/salary that makes this a reality. Find that has been impossible too and then one has to "learn skills" here but also keep one's self alive working unskilled labor to somehow poke-evolve into skilled labor...

People with rich, generous parents just skip straight into "fun, skilled labor they are passionate about" and aren't expected to slave away first.

Upward mobility is non-existent. It's "the rich make their children richer.. compete with that."

I think people don't try. It wasn't difficult for me to come wealthy

my great grandparents were starving immigrants who came to the USA with just a suitcase, a criminal, a sweatshop worker sewing clothing, and a landless farmhand. My grandparents were very poor blue collar workers in non-union jobs. My Parents were lower middle class small business owners. An I am upper-middle class, or rich, depending on how you paint it.

Every generation worked hard, and sacrificed so that the next generation could have it better. I would do the same, if i had children. But I'm getting old, and I probably won't have children, so my family line will end with me; and all of the sacrifices, and hard work, will have amounted to nothing. I wish I could go back in time, and tell my ancestors to live more selfishly; I didn't deserve their blood, sweat, and tears.

Money doesn't buy true happiness, nor will it ever. You're delusional if you think so.

I always have the opportunity to earn money. I'll never be rich, but I don't stress it too much. If I really end up in a losing situation, there's always the gun to the head.

What pisses me off is that so many women will complain about billionaires, republicans, classism, poverty, etc, but will then only date men who make more money and will be so judgmental of men who don't make as much money. In romance, women are the bourgeoisie, but will still do so much virtue signalling to pretend they are progressive rather than hypercapitalist eugenicists

My family are the "working rich" type that are insecure narcissistic yuppies.
