I had an argument about this a couple years ago during the Ukraine invasion. Some dumbass said the same shit then complained about high gas prices.
People forget that all we have is 100% not 200% not 300%. 100% that's all the percent's there are. 20% out of a 100% leaves you with 80% which you have to distribute accordingly i wish math was taught more seriously in school.

When one location's oil source gets blockaded, oil gets more expensive; and then the less efficient oil wells in other places get turned on. The same amount of oil (roughly) is getting used. It just costs more.

yeah that's what i was trying to explain to the fucker when we were arguing, that (10% at the time) is a good bit and the oil will get more expensive and he was yapping about other places taking up the slack which is something i already knew.
Then the next week gas went up by a dollar or some crazy shit and he wasn't yapping much anymore because his dumbass f150 was guzzling all his money up i guess
