Day 1 of emulating Rei as a "literally me" persona was an absolute disaster. How am I supposed to stay stoic and emotionless when I'm surrounded by stupid, annoying people who piss me off? People suck.

No but I'm infantile (I guess).

I like playing a character because being myself never got me anywhere. I see a character I like and I emulate them to try to alter my outlook on life. "This character is strong so If I act like him/her maybe my mentality will change and my life will improve" kind of deal. Also I find it fullfilling, like a hobby or a game.

i hate all the people around me too but from everyone else's perspective they surely see me as stoic and emotionless
the key is that i am too scared to voice my opinions or complaints because i fear the consequences so instead i do nothing

Haha I have a weird variation of this. I emulate who people expect me to be, because I have no continuous self if that makes sense.

By minding your own business.

>I like playing a character because being myself never got me anywhere.
I always wonder how well people actually know themselves. Spending time by oneself is very important.
>"This character is strong so If I act like him/her maybe my mentality will change and my life will improve"
You can also think about what qualities a person has and how they can benefit you, rather than completely replacing yourself.

In my experience, these people tend to be perceived as arrogant.
>the key is that i am too scared to voice my opinions or complaints because i fear the consequences
Express your opinion or complaint in a less offensive way. Perhaps in the form of a question?
