I wouldn't say I like them but I find the concept very interesting. I have a bunch of Gura's karaoke on my playlist and i quite enjoy the random clips and animations about them.
Watching/listening to someone stream just isnt interesting or comfy to me but if i was more inclined towards it im sure i'd prefer a vtuber over a normal 3d whore.

I like a few. To be honest I still have mixed feelings about the whole "parasocial" thing, and the industry as a whole sometimes feels p2w. Or the "pick-me" side of things. It's good and fun in small doses but after a while you realize you're not really getting much for your time...

I think the entire hobby is pathetic and moreso for women and children. It's sad that grown adult men cuck themselves out of their time and money being a fan for what are basically e-girls from tumblr/discord/reddit etc. making meme jokes from 5-10 years ago. You have no reason to fund their lifestyles if they aren't having sex with you. Hard to think they respect their fans. Hard to justify being so openly supportive of women who want to hook you with the simulation of presence but want nothing to do with you as an individual. This is approriate for children. We all wanted a 'cool gamer girlfriend' when we were younger but being a vtuber fan is not the realization of that desire. You may as well be chatting with an AI bot. One of the reasons why vtubers are so popular is because of the asymmetrical dating hierarchies in NA or NA-modeled countries. They can easily capitalize off lonely men in different ways. Half of the women can barely maintain the theatrical aspect on stream. Feels stupid when you consider what is happening in this light. I think vtubers, and technologically savvy women in general, get too much undue attention for no legitimate reason. All men need a cope, right? I can respect the work ethic but cannot respect the overall 'hobby' and consider it a placeholder for AI companions, which will provide a far more intensive suite of neural hijacking than an e-girl using an avatar, the kind that will actually make your brain develop an addiction the simulation. Morally better? No, but humans-as-vtubers are on the same scale of worthlessness until their quality improves, and the "hobby" can legitimately justify everything that comes with it.

I don't mind/care about them. I have enough stuff to do and watch, no time for vtubers. I guess some designs are nice. I bought a fig of knight in battledress because it looked nice and I simply like battledresses, and later on I learned it was actually vtuber.
I watched couple streams of Neuro because I'm interested in AI development so I was curious + I like listening to covers of songs with anime-like voices so I'd like to learn how to do such shit myself, but for the time being I simply play Neuro covers in the background from time to time.
