I've shared a house with 2 others for a year now and I've forgot to turn off the oven after using it twice now already. Also, I've been driving for 5 years now and already I've forgot to turn off my headlights twice. The first time I did it, a neighbour told me so I was okay but this time no one told me so I have a flat battery and have to pay 128 pound call out fee to get it fixed (even though my insurance is fully comprehensive "platinum" and includes breakdown assistance). I'm taking to breakdown company connected to my insurance to court over this but I probably won't get my money back. Fml.

Is this normal or do I have some sort of disorder? I feel like i'm especially absent minded/forgetful

Twice in one year is 2/365 = 0.5%
You're fine

You know you can use jumper cables to charge it back up, right? Get some cables and a jumper box for them. It'll probably cost you as much as getting it repaired. And you'll have the tool for next time.

The guy just turned up from the breakdown companies partner company and did it for free which I was very grateful for! But for the future I'll get a jumper box and cables probably. Now idk what's going to happen with this small claims court case... Idk if I can cancel it or not. Guess i'll sleep on it, still kinda pissed off that I had to resort to agreeing to pay !28 pounds extra ontop of my insurance which should already cover this.

Oh you said 28, not 128. It wouldn't pay for itself right away in that case. I'd still get one though. Much more satisfying to work on your own things than pay someone else to do it.

Nope the callout fee was 128 pounds over the phone and then the friendly Jamaican mechanic showed up and did it for free. Could be because they found out about the small claims case I had made or just because he only had to travel 13 miles and spend 2 minds using his jumper box to help me out idk

>fee was 128 pounds
Blimey they saw you coming. For fuck's sake mate, none of your friends have a car and a set of jumper cables? As well as a set of jumper cables you might want to pick up an automotive battery charger if you're going to be doing this regularly.

The battery can still be too dead for a jump but its worth a shot
