I've written letters about this.

I'm a piece of shit for not hanging out with my friends. well it doesn't matter now. they're all gone.

My one friend became a little upset with me and uncaring nature of my replies to him. I give him a lot of "oh okay" and "yeah?" but I was like this when we met. I don't even like talking about my interests because I've never met anyone irl who shares them so the conversation is meaningless. I've lost count of how many times he's asked me basic questions about my favorite video games, it's infuriating. I hate wasting breath on words that don't matter to anyone.
He plays a lot of shit vidya and I let him ramble to about them but he's starting to expect more than me listening which is too much work for me. I respond because he's my friend but I won't reply with fake interest or enthusiasm.
