Do insane people know they're insane?

i'm schizophrenic and before being diagnosed i already knew there was something wrong with me, but i thought it was just depression
my case is a bit different from others because i got diagnosed before experiencing a fullblown psychotic episode

I know because the average person would find my beliefs and behaviour odd.
I've learned since I was a kid to pretend to be normal and talk in a 'blending' way to others.
Not that I really give a fuck what their opinion of me is at the end of the day, if it weren't for the factor that being misunderstood by ignorant people is how you accumulate problems, they just make your life so much harder.

when i was hallucinating, for whatever reason i didn't think i was crazy, i was delusional and thought there was some kind of technology being used on me and then i also thought maybe my thoughts were being broadcasted to the whole world, so everyone could hear my thoughts but only i could hear other peoples thoughts.

so when you're really crazy you don't come to the easy conclusion that you're crazy, you become delusional and retarded.

In my experience if you try too hard to reason with a person who is in the middle of a psychotic episode, they will think you're in on the conspiracy.
They believe that you are trying to gaslight them or whatever and that they are not delusional whatsoever.
