Depends, kids need a female role model in their life and a male role model in their life so it'd be a bit awkward to have one of those missing.
If they were good parents then obviously, but a good chunk of gay men are pedophiles so for the greater good I wouldn't let gay couples have parental rights.
lesbian couples aren't ideal especially with sons, but I guess it's better for a child to have (good) parents than to not have them at all.

it would be better for orphan kids to get adopted by gay couples than stay in the system. normal hetero couples in good standing should have first pickings though.
