How the FUCK do people get diagnosed with ADHD?

I go to a psychiatrist because I'm failing Uni and tell them I can't focus, they say I have depression and give me Wellbutrin even though I am not depressed. 2 months later I come back and they raise the dose and say come back in 2 more months.

Literal shit eating 12 year old kids who play Fortnite all day can easily get an Adderall script but an actual college student who is trying to get a degree can't get shit. Fuck doctors.

Because ADHD is noticed early on. It's how they weed out fakers like you and people who were diagnosed later in life either faked it (like you) or grew up in a time where they simply didn't diagnose it (unaware boomers)

I was diagnosed with add as a kid back in the 90s but my mom never got me meds/treatment because she thought it meant crazy and started cussing the school physc out until she got removed from the building. Do you think I would have a chance to get some meds?

Just describe a childhood history of difficulty sustaining attention outside of specific interests.

Look up the DSM-V criteria and just tell them what they want to hear. Psychiatry is a joke - it's not allopathic medicine. It's all clinical diagnoses with no established pathphysiology. I could walk into an assessment service tomorrow and walk out with an autism diagnosis because I know ADOS.

Most psychiatrists will not prescribe Wellbutrin and Adderall together because there are known interactions that will cause psychosis, suicidal ideation, schizophrenia, and may worsen other neurological disorders such as anxiety and OCD.

If you actually have ADHD and are not looking just for the script then while on wellbutrin, stratera is prescribed for ADHD.

The only reason to need Adderall is stratera is not effective. You would have to change the Wellbutrin into a SSRI which is going to kill your dick.

It's hard to get diagnosed as adhd. Unless the psychiatrist or somebody has noticed the adhd in your autistic ass at first sight, it's unlikely you'll get the fortnite pills.

Got diagnosed in the UK at 29. The NHS seems almost urgent to diagnose people with ADHD/Autism, desu.
You should probably say some shit like "A few people have said I seem like I have ADHD, is it possible to get checked?" rather than telling them you can't focus, as anhedonia, lack of focus and general apathy are all attributed to depression most of the time.
Alternatively, ask them to put you on Mirtazapine (Remeron in the US, I believe), it really aided me with focus when I was on it briefly, though it can cause weight gain and you to act deranged.

I'm sorry you are dealing with that, OP. I was diagnosed as a child because I was constantly in trouble for not staying in my seat and being a Chatty Cathy. It's harder as an adult unless you get a neuropsych eval and have others support you by giving a detailed history of your symptoms. One of my coworkers got hers because of not only that, but she's been in treatment for "treatment resistant depression" for over a decade. What brought it about is her old doctor retiring and getting a new one with a fresh eye hearing her complian of clutteres mess in her apartment, her marriage failing, etc. Thst is when he suggested a neuropsych eval, and had her parents and husband come in for a session. Her tests showed it and was orescribed methyphenidate, and her life was turned around.

There's the issue also that a lot of college students fake ADHD to get on adderall or ritalin to abuse fot studying. It's just like opiate addicts misusing opiates which lead to the epidemic of overdoses and doctors being less likely to prescribe them even for people with severe psin issues. Blame them.

Why do you want this shit? It's not going to make you smarter or have better studying habits or become a harder worker?

Here's how I did it; I found a slutty psychologist who was biting her lip while talking with me. Then claim I had ADHD since I was a child and bam easy Vyvanse. I wish I was joking..

That's bullshit in my experience as I was diagnosed Bipolar Type 1 and I still got Wellbutrin and Vyvanse together. It's a stupid combo because the Wellbutrin blocks part of the Ampfetamine from working.

Sure, well my opinion is that Wellbutrin is like the retarded baby brother to Ritalin XR. It helps a little with depression, but it did nothing for my ADHD. I would try to double your dose to 600mg assuming you've never had a seizure before. I also would say that when I was in a similar situation to you I went on the dark web and bought some Dexedrine XR 10 mg and it helped a lot for my adhd. Other weaker stimulants include; caffeine, nicotine and creatine at higher doses. Or even cannabis sativa. Or gooning works too.

Really you need to tell your doctor about your executive disfunction and your troubles. The reason why they're denying you stimulants is because you were able to be successful without it. If you dropped out of high school and couldn't
hold down a job maybe it's adhd. Otherwise they won't believe you.
