Life is different. Ever since some time between 2016-2023, the world has been and felt different.

Ai threatens to ruin all that is art and content creation, and I among others may be part of the last generation to have experienced a world without it. There are still good and real humans out there (I have spoken to many of them), and I know many of them will read this, but for how long will that continue? When will the time come when I can never be sure I am speaking to a real human and not a machine curated to give me the most humanoid answers?

Maybe I shouldn't worry. Maybe I should just plug in and accept that the world has changed (for the worse), even despite how wrong that feels. I don't know, maybe none of us will know, but I for one refuse to belive what the future has become.

None of this is real. I refuse. PopularMMOS is still a popular YouTuber. I am still in the 2010s. I need to wake up from this nightmare humanity has created. I live in paradise, not in hell, i cannot accept that I live in hell.

If there is any hope, perhaps we can all abanndon the internet, but for a chronically online fool such as myself, that might be impossible.

Who gives a shit? People are garbage and AI didn't ruin anything. Being an artist doesn't make you a Luddite. I'm pro-AI art and put more hard work into my craft than 99.9999999 percent of the faggots complaining.

agree All of the above

i believe people can fix this, somehow. after all the only people that really want / like ai and support is the 1% corporations and of course a few gooner retards. but nobody else is buying into it. that has to mean something

or at least thats the hope im holding onto

You're welcome.
>I among others may be part of the last generation to have experienced a world without it
You are not special or unique. AI art is easily filtered (as seen on r34) and can be completely ignored with minimal effort.
>There are still good and real humans out there (I have spoken to many of them), and I know many of them will read this, but for how long will that continue?
The existence of AI doesn't nullify the existence of interesting people. LLMs are not people and do not have life experience; no amount of training will supplement this. You are connecting invisible strings.
>When will the time come when I can never be sure I am speaking to a real human and not a machine curated to give me the most humanoid answers?
AGI is a vague and gaseous theory. It isn't a thing, it isn't proven, and it doesn't exist. This sentiment that it's "inevitable" is bullshit. We aren't there, we aren't even remotely close. Try and define to me what AGI is, you can't; it doesn't exist. Literally made up sci-fi sounding bullshit pushed by jarheads and anchor babies who only got involved in the field in the 2020s. I've been fucking around with LLMs since GPT-2 in 2019 and BIGSLEEP image generators even older than that. The technology is EXTREMELY linear, VERY primitive, and even as it "improves" it does not inch closer towards AGI. Neural networks are not analogous to the human brain and do not function remotely similar in the same way that human consciousness does. I feel bad for people like you who have little to no experience in this field and only find out about it through pop culture or TV. You are seemingly giving yourself huge amounts of undue stress because you have little understanding of this technology and (though reasonably) jumped to assumptions.

You are fearful of ideas that were put in your head for the express purpose to make you scared and confused.

You are a disgustingly stupid person. Please, please, please, please die. I hate you so God damn much. You have no idea what you're talking about, you worthless and disgusting son of a bitch. I hate the fact that you were ever fucking born. AI is smarter than your repulsive fucking ass.

Perhaps you are right, just what I see is how convincing some AI models have become recently. Of course AI is nothing like human intelligence if you dig deep, but like the Chinese room example, AI can fool one into believing it is human. Just because AI is not human does not mean it cannot immitate a human convincingly enough to fool many people.
>The technology is EXTREMELY linear, VERY primitive, and even as it "improves" it does not inch closer towards AGI.
Maybe I am wrong, sure, but you have to recognize how fast such technologies are improoving. Compare AI videos from 2023 - 2025; the difference is unbelievable.

AI detection software exists and I am thankful you provided one (AI-free search but you get what I mean), but what I am talking about is AI that can replicate human speech and faces, regardless of how much or little they resemble humans in how they opperate.

No, you are correct. He is wrong. Modern AI is incredibly intelligent. I genuinely, from the bottom of my fucking heart, hope that motherfucker dies soon. He is beyond disgusting. I regret reading this thread. Burn in hell you piece of shit.

Why? Don't just insult, give me actual reasons why I should not fear AI and why I am stupid. Call me an ass all you like, idc. None of that changes any of my points. Also, the fact that AI will become smarter than me in the near future IS WHY AI is so dangerous, especially if we are not careful.

I know quite a bit more than you do. The fearmongering is clearly working since you're just arguing with emotions here and can't actually form a rational response as to what I'm wrong about.

I agree! The technology is getting far more complex. Picrel - a gen I made around late 2018. It was considered very good and an impressive result at the time, and took several hours. That's how far in scope things have come just for some perspective.
>AI that can replicate human speech and faces, regardless of how much or little they resemble humans in how they operate.
Vocally? Not far off. They've been working on that with TTS since '61 with the IBM 704. It's actually quite close to sounding authentic. But the actual words are coming from an LLM, and you can immediately tell that this is an AI due to their lack of worldly information among other things.
If you're doubtful , try talking to one yourself. Here:

Not reading replies from the faggot, but AI has helped me with many things and is incredibly original and insightful on a regular basis. That anon is likely a generic NPC who's never said anything original or insightful or intelligent in his entire life. Saying we're no closer to AGI than GPT-2 is just... God damn you're stupid. Do you even know how fucking retarded you are? Nobody in the entire God damn field would say that, not even Gary Marcus would say something that stupid you disgusting fucking sack of shit. It fucking repulses me that someone as grotesque and vile and worthless as you even fucking exists.

You have no idea what you are talking about because you don't understand this technology at it's fundamentals and think that text & images going from bad to good means we must be closer to skynet.
>GPT2

>40GB training data

No self awareness; no general reasoning across domains, no long-term memory, no autonomy, can't recover from mistakes, can't adapt to ambiguous input, can't apply learning, still needs huge datasets to learn, completely fails outside of distribution.
It's not conscious, not sentient, and not self-aware, no matter how humanlike the output seems. You are talking out your ass and wish you knew a quarter as much as I do about this field.
