I would consider the determinant factor "the ability to form opinions." If a person gets all of their opinions from their environment (e.g. television, social media, friend group), then they are a normalfag. If a person makes up his opinions on his own, then he is not.

Everyone has their own definitions and they're usually just below the person you're talking to. I've been called a normalfag despite not talking to another person in months and only leaving the house every few weeks.
