I have had my full genome sequenced and I have gilbert's syndrome. That was the only thing it identified. Explained stuff I noticed all my life but never knew why, like things like alcohol having no positive effect on me while it gave other people a social buzz, or even coke back when I tried it doing nothing to me. They just made me tired and, with alcohol, naturally, intoxicated, but none of the positive effects of it. Turns out with gilbert's syndrome you metabolyse them differently so they aren't made as soluble and just go through you more. As a syndrome, it's minor in that most people who have it will never even notice they have it and live their whole lives, it has no real negative effects.

Quite common in some population groups
Read somewhere that in general 7% of people have it. More just a genetic quirk than a proper 'syndrome' but I suppose the medical industry has to label everything these days

Oblivion was ridiculous when it went from lil goblins to huge demons just casually hanging out in the local park. random bandits now kitted out in full glass armour. Skyrim seems a BIT better, you see a dragon or a giant and think "nah, not today."

maybe i will play the 3D Final Fantasies some day. tried to replay FF7 with all the modern PC software. worked great, but the game itself is just so. fucking. slow. all the transitions to get into battles and things.
the 2D ones didn't have that, so i am blaming intentional design choices here.

Isn't that great? You get to raise Chad's bastard spawn and maybe if you're lucky we'll let you impregnate us so we can give you inferior offspring tainted by telegony. >I followed all the advice, I attained that which I was told would make me happyMaybe you should listen to yourself and your own desires. What do YOU want to do in life? When people give you advice they often don't give a shit about you. They just want to advocate for their own ideas which benefit them, or which make them feel better. Sometimes advice can be helpful, but sometimes it just isn't. Start doing things you want to do, instead of things that other people want you to do.

After an MRI and X-ray I was told I would need spinal fusion surgery, this is completely different for each patient but I was given no other choice!>From my diagnosis in October, I was already having surgery early December so for me the process happened very fast and I didn't even really get the chance to process what was happening during this time. Leading up to my diagnosis I had zero pain to suggest anything was wrong. Spotting scoliosis before it develops is crucial, if I hadn't been on holiday with my mum applying sun cream to my back it could have been even longer before my diagnosis.>My surgery went well (I even grew a couple inches!) but recovery was one of the hardest things I've ever done, I had to learn how to walk again and even sitting down felt incredibly very uncomfortable.

I think I might start taking a low dose of antidepressant (lower than the dose I just stopped)
I want to get off them for good, but withdrawals are a real thing. My withdrawals could take weeks before I get back to normal. If I just take a low dose of the drug it should satisfy my brain (ruined by the drugs in the first place) a bit more. So I will be able to function. Then I can gradually come off them.
I hate psychiatry so much. They did this to my brain.
me and the gf going to a thai restaurant later

OK, 1/3 surveys was successful. I'll keep plugging away scatting for pennies. I won't update all the time, I'll let you know when I get back to a few quid.

I just endured five days without the internet. It was hell.
Fucking Virgin Media, their overpriced as fuck broadband, and their near impossibility to get through to a person (even then, it's all pajeets now).
My ancient router finally gave up on Saturday (and I was hoping to shitpost through the Le Mans 24 hour race), had to use Weatherspoons wi-fi to have a virtual chat for almost an hour to get a new router sent to me, because the fucking automation on the site for ordering a new router would not work, and then I had to wait until Tuesday. Naturally, it arrived at the end of yesterday where I was climbing the fucking walls without my best cope with this miserable fucking existence. Then, the fucking thing didn't work!
Only this morning, after getting through to anther pajeet, did the router finally work as any re-jigging had to happen at their end and not mine, so now I am just relieved as fuck; like a drowning guy finding an oxygen tank. I even forgot to ask about compensation for the five missing days of service. I thought I'd have to nurse a coffee every early morning at a fucking sweltering McD's every day just to check my intarwebz. No, 4chan was not accessible either, lol.
Now the fucking heat is unbearable. Oh, and the weekend is ten years since I found my mother dead in our kitchen and wishing ever since that I was with her. I hope I have enough cans to drink myself into a stupor, as I'll have to dry out next month to save money.
>>81542867that sounds grim mate. I'm on plusnet and they're all yorkshire lads when I ring. I also can't stand it without internet
>>81542881beats injuns mate
>>81542881It is, mate. Also shitty that the web is needed for even 'offline' games these days. I finally had to hook my old PS3 back up.
Sadly, it seems my only broadband option where I live is Hyperoptic. Though the prices are much better, fuck knows who they employ.
After 20 years with VM, and my piss-take monthly broadband doubling to over 60 quid a month, I was looking to jump ship.
I'd heard that people could haggle them down to a reasonable rate, but haggling with pajeets seems impossible as they are world champions.
I'll probably leave it a couple of years, so I can let those five horrible days fade, in case I have to go through similar upheaval again.
Good evening sir. The heat is rather sultry isn't it? As usual, once the temperature goes above twenty two celsius we're obliged to provide the clientele with a selection of cooling iced confections. Perhaps a salted caramel and pregabalin? The rum and diazepam? Lets get you inside, you're beginning to burn.
