Why is it considered racist to point out the Japanese depict themselves as looking like white people instead of what they really look like? Pic related is like the only time I have seen them accurately represent their own phenotype in their cartoons.

Apparently Nigerians believe everyone who isnt black is white. They see all non blacks as white.

Asian in general hate being reminded that they look asian. I think they all have body dysmorphia and perceive themselves to look like Whites or like Asians with lots of plastic surgery and hair dye

Anime characters just look like kids. For a modern version of this painting you can refer to stuff orb. I noticed characters there have particularly long noses and deep set droopy eyes, a perfect representation of white race in anime format.

Aristocratic women in feudal Japan would bleach their skin, because that was what was considered high class and feminine. Even before it was common for Westerners to be in Japan, skin bleaching was common. It's not even a Westophile thing, as Europeans are often depicted as blue-skinned ogres in Japanese folklore.
