I know that is an ironic thing to say here of all places but I'm really starting to fucking hate memes. It feels like the entire internet has been memefied. And it has ruined general discussion and vocabulary as well. 90 percent of people my age (I'm a zoomer) seem unable to have a genuine discussion without resorting presenting their arguments in an irony poisoned format.

I hate stale, decades-old, outdated memes. OP.
Let's get real though, memes are the units of society, and if you want to change society, then you need to force memes. It's no surprise that Pepe, a meme forced by white supremacists, has moved the Overton window to the point where Nazis are shoving the USA into the toilet.

They're almost never funny and are used as safe ways to get whatever political view the poster has

Idk this one is funny lol
But a lot of memes nowadays come from a place of butthurt and the palpable seethe renders them unfunny and obnoxious
