It makes me very happy how adamant my parents are that they are proud of me. I wish I could tell them that I'm not proud of myself.

Same man, my dad especially is always telling me he's proud of me, that he is proud of the the kind of man I've grown to be (Im studious, and fairly hard working, kinda funny but socially worthless otherwise).
Maybe he is trying to get me to not kill myself.
