the current state of bux is horrendous in my country though, jumping to bunhc of hoops and work for "free" aka work for 1/3rd of minimum wage just to get your bux, waste your entire days not getting closer to a job, pretty much torture you into getting a job eventually because you either break mentally or become suicidal

I worked as a part-time substitute teacher for a bit, I got paid $150 dollars a day and only on days that I wanted to work. I was basically free to do whatever I wanted

That will never happen even if we found unlimited energy, A.I. singularity happened, and we discovered the key to immortality and omniscience. Neoliberalism will still exist, private corporations would still control the government, and nothing would be free for everyone still.
The closest thing is that modern idea of UBI where you volunteer to X cause like the suicide lifeline and get paid by the state a given hourly pay depending on how important is your volunteer work for society. The highest paid being volunteering for being a doctor in Apefrica and the suicide lifeline itself during peak hours.
