We are creatures of habit, and not everyone gets healthy habits instilled in them, and it creates a cascading effect that makes it proportionally harder to get out of. You can almost think of it like a "food addiction". This is something that a lot of thin people just can't seem to wrap their heads around.
Food is like a drug that you can't ever quit cold turkey. Once your sense of hunger is broken, it can never go back to being normal. So, so many cases of people working hard to lose all the weight, and then relapsing hard. For thin people, it really is just a simple matter of "just stop eating" because they're not actually all that interested in food to begin with. I've seen memes of thin people "forgetting" to eat. Meanwhile for fat people, food is an active background noise in the back of their head constantly, you have to actively fight the urge to eat things. There's something fundamentally wrong, and yet we're treated as if it's purely a moral issue.
