Should've just made a 28 months later or something. Post-post apocalyptic zombie movies are so boring and played out "Oooh we're in the wilderness and we use like crossbows n stuff and theres bad tribes around oh and also zombies"
>>81560757Cillian was not in this one. He will be in the sequel.
>>81560794The movie is honestly more of a character study of a particular character, and more psychological. Very different from what the trailer would have you believe. It's actually quite mind-fucky at parts, almost psychedelic in a way.
Don't care. The zombie apocolyspe was severly overdone two decades ago.
>>81560637 (OP)Not really into horror movies, the original was good, the second one not so much. Not going to pay to see it, might torrent it eventually but probably not.
>>81560637 (OP)Good movie but the last three minutes with the goofy Jimmy Saville gang makes me feel the sequel will have Marvel tier writing. Also considering the same black woman who made The Marvels and Candyman will direct it I think the next part will be woke AF
>>81561350God I fucking hope not but you're probably right.
Trailers are misleading and almost border on false advertising.
The movie itself is pretty good but if youre walking in expecting anything like 28 days later or even 28 weeks later you will be disappointed. Its a good movie on its own when you analyze the messages and themes but if you compare it to the original or as a sequel its abysmal dogshit.
The cinematography is amazing, the acting is generally good, the first half of the movie is actually kinda terrifying and it pays to watch it in a theater with some gimmick like i did.
My main criticism comes from the fact that the infected basically turned into video game zombies, when they get killed the camera does a 180 turn around them and it feels like a video game more than anything. The evolution of these zombies dont actually enhance how scary they are and the only reason that plot point exists is to explain why the original infected that only has a shelf life of barely 2 months managed to survive 28 years.
The ending is a insane tone shift and if you want to watch the movie beforehand google and learn about who jimmy savile is. The ending is sequel bait and the people you see are the "cult" that people are expecting in the movie.
Overall, 7/10 on its own.
5/10 as a sequel to 28 days and weeks.
>>81560814The movie at times doesnt feel real, i was half expecting a twist where it was all a dream or something considering how nonsensical it feels at times. Shame the movie's messaging and themes are more surface level and dont try to actually go past that.
