The Oxford English Dictionary 1st edition explicitly outlines a child as a person under the age of 13 / puberty, and the original age of consent in most Western countries like France Germany England Spain Poland etc. was 13/14 until feminist movements trying to keep girls from being "corrupted" raised the age to 18 (it was always about girls btw not boys). It's actually mentally insane that people nowadays chimp out over someone dating a 17 yo. You can literally have kids with a 14 year old and they will have no complications and they pair bond more strongly than older women.
