Is 27 too old to "be young". I have wasted the last decade of my life depressed and reclusive. I wish I could move somewhere new, make some friends, start a band/be a part of some music scene, and generally just party and have a youthful experience. Is this a pipe dream? Would I just be setting myself up for disappointment?

You can do anything you want stop with the defeatist bullshit, the only "connection" OP might lack is a mutual friend to act as a foot in the door to a social scene he/she otherwise has no feasible access to but back when I was involved in the local music scene there were no age limits, people as old as their mid 50s or 60s could get involved and still take part in the parties and social gatherings, especially if it's an alt scene that fosters open-mindedness and acceptance, this age limit crap makes you seem like a middle schooler mentally
