I used to always be king of monsters + consistently but now I have trouble breaking over 9999. All the pay pigs stat check me and use obnoxious meta and monsters I refuse to use.

Yeah I have, and I eventually stopped playing it because the people in the lower leagues still do it, just that they aren't any good. It's a football game, but these days, your teams are built with "in form" players who have heavily inflated stats. There's no more passing around to probe for gaps in defences, just a long ball and my defender would run away because his stats are not high enough. I always try to use players with stats adjusted to how they perform in real life even if I could raise them higher. I hate gacha mechanics.

Competitive gaming sucks because modern games suck. They design games instead of just intuitively making them which is why they aren't fun. Ladders and pug elo systems are also stupid as fuck and generally make players braindead bots instead of making them actually understand the game and smarter. You need to get on a team and learn that way for the fastest results, but ladderfags are flat out antisocial. In the past before comp gaming became esports, this is how it worked. Now the era of fast cheap slop pug systems has ruined the perception of what these spaces are like and its less social and all seriousness and rank/your appearance. Used to be a good player would surprise you.

I don't lay yugioh as much as I like it because the meta is always gay as fuck and my favorite deck gets bodied unless I'm really good and put in meta packages.

I don't play meta in league and hit emerald when I play ranked. You need thicker skin and focus on yourself and laugh when shit talked. In fact me and my friend have 80% wr playing maokai galio/renekton xin botlane
