What was your life like when this album had just come out?

Lol that was the first album I ever owned (at 8 years old). I saw "In The End" music video and paid attention to the album name and begged my mom to buy it.
Around that time I probably would have been playing Goldeneye 64 with my brother and my favorite game of all time was Starfox 64 (at the time).
I also met two of my closest childhood friends that year, and the one bonded over how cool my linkin park album was, and the other bonded over showing me how to get the secret ending in Starfox64.

The album aged extremely well, I still bang the album from time to time.

I was only 4 years old. I wouldn't properly appreciate this album for almost a decade.

Pretty comfy. I had two good friends at school. We used to crash at each other's houses to play videogames and eat sloppa. I also had a very comfy time during 2000s internet

Post-StarCraft, late Pokemon, mid-graphing calculator, no longer too fat to run mile, approaching 6 ft, realizing little sister has armpit hair

Pretty good. I was in middle school, I think 6th grade or something. I was already into hard rock and heavy metal so I don't have a lot of other peoples memories of it having "exposed them to heavy music" but I really dug the blend of rock, rap and electronic. The lyrics never meant anything to me even as a young, retarded kid.

It came out a year before I got kicked out of highschool. I felt like it absolutely expressed my rage and sorrow with the energy I had at that age. I thought it was shit because I hated school and hated a lot of people there. But looking back I had no responsibilities. I just went skating and hung out with the few friends I had. I was surrounded by a lot of eye candy at school. They really were good times that I didn't appreciate through my teenage angst.
