I'm asperger's for reference. It's really weird seeing people get nostalgic for shit you thought was bad as a kid. It'll be something from 2009/2010 and it'll be accompanied with "zoomers won't understand". Sometimes it feels like I found the secret warp area and skipped to later levels before other people did.
I also have ass burgers. Was home schooled by hyper religious parents so basically everything was evil and therefore not allowed. I never know what people are talking about when they worship celebrities, musicians, movies, or products.
I'm in my 30s now and have gotten pretty good at context. Metal cups are a god because another woman said it was because another woman said it was because another woman... In the majority of cases that is all these things are, lemmings and lemons lepeating lemon lemmings. Even if the appeal is not understood, the reason it's a thing is obvious. We probably grew up equally quickly compared to peers. Any difference is more easily explained by others having significantly lower intelligence. To you metal cups are just cups. To others it's the defining feature of everything about them. They talk about cup. Take picture of cup. Buy additional cup that is identical in performance and appearance except for color. They proselytize cup, telling other cup owners they should buy cup. The other cultist agrees and tells her she too should buy cup. They buy clothing with cup logo and symbology on it so even when not cupping they are readily identifiable as a cuppist to other cuppists.
In some ways it's enviable. Imagine having instant hundreds of friends because you like thing. If your experience was anything like mine if it was discovered you liked thing the result was getting hit and yelled at. To them the concept of hiding your power level must be confusing. Cup is the entire purpose of their life, why would they hide such a meaningful part of themselves?
Not hating on cup btw. I have a heretical cup that I favor. It is glass and has a capacity of 24oz. It holds liquids meant for consumption, so even though I'm wrong, in my mind it is very similar to cup. But it's an assburger thing. I would be very distressed if I could not access it. For cuppists as long as it is the correct brand or denomination any one is as good as the other.
