If you keep to yourself and are therefore an unknown entity among the women in a social environment you inhabit, you might see one of these probing you so she can share her findings in the womens' bathroom or chat group. maybe they're not going to war with you, but they're building their arsenal.

I can't since it was in the past and I don't know her, and a couple of other times in the very distant past. I have never really had a relaxed conversation with a girl and in these case I shut down a bit and end up feeling patronized.
