This song right here is a classic. They're probably blasting it in Iran right now--and a few households in the states.

Nope, the Vita straight up is not programmed to play PS2 games outside of certain ported titles like the Jak and Daxter trilogy. It struggles to run N64 emulation, imagine trying to emulate PS2 on it. I say this as a staunch and devoted defender of the Vita.

I'll send this reply as well in case you see it. If you want to emulate PS2 games, you're going to want something like a Steam Deck. I am pretty sure there are similar devices in a Vita form factor that can play PS2 games, but I don't know about any of that. With the Deck you can play all the Fatal Frame games that exist (other than the 3DS once since you need the camera for it), including the Wii game and the Wii U game that they ported to the computer. Try looking around for stuff like that.

Just get a backwards compatible PS3.

You can try emulation, but the experience is hit or miss with certain games. You can emulate a select few PS2 and PS1 titles on a jailbroken PS4, but that requires some configs most of the time.

There are a few things that can go wrong with a PS3 since it's old as fuck now (my PS3 is older than most of the summerfags on this board), so if you can't be assed with any of that, just get a PS2.

Yeah, like you said, the problem is that the phat PS3s that can play 2 games are much more prone to hardware failure than regular PS3s. Emulation for PS2 games is actually perfectly fine, at least on computers. I played Fatal Frame II with zero problems on my computer. The problem with getting a PS2 would then be getting the actual disks, which would be comically expensive. There are ways to hack the PS2 though.

Yes, that's what I implied. Anyone who buys physical discs nowadays is a retard.

Mod your PS2 and download ALL THE GAMES! DON'T PAY A SINGLE GODDAMN CENT.

Yeah, I stopped buying physical games period since the prices are stupid Jewish now. I wish I could have gotten into this stuff in the early 2000s.

This goes for pretty much anything hobby related nowadays thanks to those faggot-ass trends on TikTok.

>I wish I could have gotten into this stuff in the early 2000s
Even just a few years ago, back around 2016, you could find these things for a more sane price. One thing that's been overly inflated is CRTs. Every old faggot thinks their generic low-range consumer CRT or monitor sells for $100. There's a shitload of things that can go wrong with a CRT after all these years, and you'll more than likely either have to repair/service it at some point, or be stuck recycling it yourself.

The vita has a very similar processor (tegra) to the switch one. I'm not sure if there's a PS2 emulator on it now. I have a vita any can output very impressive graphics. Killzone on it is amazing. Comparable to a PS3. At this time I would recommend getting something like a steam deck though. The rogue Ally might even be a better choice because it runs Windows and all the fatal frames have been ported at this point.

I have only played fatal frame 4, 5 , and the one on the 3DS.

Best emulation handheld In my opinion is the PSP Go. I use it for game boy advance games primarily, and it runs PSP just fine.

By the way The original PSP has a much higher quality graphics then the PS2. So it's not out of the question that the PSP Vita could handle PS2 graphics. It clearly can.

The issue is whether a emulation software is available for the Vita
