Taxes are often viewed as an oppressive tool of feudalist societies, but they aren't inherently a tool of oppression. Taxes are supposed to fund infrastructure that benefits everyone. A fair society is beneficial to everyone, and democratically deciding what infrastructure the public wants and needs is the ONLY way to guarantee that everyone has the opportunity to succeed. After all, great inventions can come from anywhere. Taxes aren't stealing, not even Reagan himself believed that.

Walmart is not a good company. Local grocers with ties to local businesses are better for everyone. If Walmart can't compete when their predatory business practices are given reasonable regulations, then fuck 'em. If they were smart, then they'd be able to adapt to ANY legislation.
Local businesses will benefit from the collapse of real-estate companies masquerading as grocery stores. It will probably hurt in the short term because the big-box stores own the majority of supply chains in the US.
