I just downloaded this "Shai and the PIrat" game for my Android phone and I'm amazed.
I can't finish the first level because it's too hard, but I can tell it's a great game just from the banger song alone.

The main character is so hot like what the fuck mate. It's like, they made a seemingly innocent, solid platformer with Sonic-tier music and fappable waifus.
So simple and effective. This got me thinking. If it's that easy to make good products, why aren't we doing the same, anon? Let's make a game that is based on fappable characters but also make it good enough to hide the fact it started as a cooming thing.

I'm down Anon. I always wanted to make a fighting game based off Rosario + Vampire but I have to practice more on Blender.

Btw I'm not sure if it's just me or did games use to be harder back in the day? I'm 35 and when I play modern games they feel super easy. Back in my day you couldn't even save your game. You took 3 hits, you were dead, and you only had a limited number of lives. Beating a game meant weeks and months of practice and then a flawless 8-hour run

Gbc shantae was a bitch which is why I was laughing at op in the first place. He can't beat new shantae mean while I was having this damn minx swinging those hips in a gbc game.

But yes older games were harder. Closer you get to the arcade era games were made hard to pad out time and get you yo spend more quarters. That mindset moving into video games before the idea that they should be "accessable to everyone" which is why things like rogue likes and dark souls got so popular due to difficulties and unrelenting go fuck yourselves to the player like how old games were.
