it's an isekai slop series for sure, but the world has some interesting layers to it. MC is overpowered but he isn't given it for free exactly, and once he's overpowered, he lets other characters do stuff, and only steps in when needed, and they give him some interesting stuff to do too, not just stomp over everything all the time. Lots of good lore for the world, and I think the characters are all pretty good. OP is true neutral, decently opportunistic, and kind of self aware of the isekai genre. he's always muttering to himself about isekai tropes while the other characters look at him funny. No harem stuff, he's got a love interest but it's very chill about it. The magic is very interesting too. It's isekai slop but it is very well executed.

Death Parade was good but pretty depressing at times.

most of what i've read has been pretty mainstream. ptsd radio, petshop of horrors, tomie + uzumaki + the rest of junji ito's stuff, etc. the way i do it to have the most fun is to just sort by horror genre + rating, and reading whatever looks cool. the shorter ones are my favorite because they feel like campfire stories and folk tales. Death's Reflection and Monkey Mountain are great examples
