>>81629266anything you think is true about the nature and purpose of life and the universe is just a belief. The universe is forever years old and you live 100 years at best. There's things you won't live to see and things happening now your living body can't see, and there are things happening now not even our greatest minds can comprehend. Nobody knows what happens to us after we die, and nobody is even all that clear on what consciousness is. People have religious experiences all the time that are as real to them as anything that nobody can explain.
So what you believe all of this is and what it means and whether it has a purpose or what that purpose is, is all your choice. You can think that the universe is an explosion of energy that happened for no reason and humans are deterministic automatons who evolved out of cosmic soup randomly, or you can believe that some very powerful being created us and has a reason for us to be here, and we have free will to join his purpose or turn away from him. We don't know either way, so we choose to believe something. Honestly, the one where we're here for no reason and with no purpose, just random blips of consciousness is so depressing and confusing. Why be good? it doesn't mean anything.
