yea I've had a few that I raised up and released into the wild. they're great until they get older and their hormones kick in. then they get aggressive. flying squirrels are the best, they have a better temperament than sugar gliders. I don't think you can buy them legally though. you have to climb a tree and get them. tree service guys find them a lot.
