I've had a lot of bad experiences on namefag sites which is admittedly why I am attracted to 4chan and other imageboards. The internet is so gay. But I would argue that it's not a reflection of who you were, but rather a specific set of data that survived and made it's way to you. Hope this helps.

my brother once showed me on his android phone all the things google maps tracked about him, he thought it was cool. it tracks every step he took over the past 15 years. he clicked on a cvs and google listed that he'd been there 6/10/2012 6pm, 8/29/2012 7:30pm, 1/5/2013 5:20 pm, 4/30/2014 3:15pm, and so on. it even tracked routes he took every time he left the housue. like for example, it would draw a line on the roads saying on 5/5/2015 you drove here, then you drove here, stayed 30 minutes, then you went home at 8pm.

I just did that the other day, my favourites playlist has hundreds of videos going back to 2012 or so and I sorted by date added and saw when I first got into anime because there are cheesey AMVs and stuff, then my ponyfag and /mlp/ phase, then my Pokemon and /vp/ phase, some /mu/ stuff, then shitpost videos from when I started browsing /tv/ then as I approach the present the video length gradually decreases until it's all sub-1-minute humour videos becsuse my brain has turned to much and I have no attention span.

There's a weird point in the timeline where it transitions from a point in life thst felt like a lifetime ago (up to 2015 or so) to then everything else feels like it could have been yesterday. Like at some point the natural progression of time just kind of stopped
