Japan has had an existential birthrate crisis and declining population for over 30 years now, its population peaked at 128 million in 2010 and has declined to 124 million today
what never gets mentioned is that in 1950 japan had a population of 84 million, the apocalyptic population decline crisis is just watching some of those baby boomers die before once again reverting to a stable growth period, while still having 50% more people than you did at the start of the baby boom
