I am a strong guy, healthy, I have skills I invested years into each, but none of this matters. This is miserable. Why do I have to beg to be a wagecuck and even that I can not be permitted to do?
If I was in the wilderness I would have already been able to forage food for myself easily and done the extra stuff I want to do. Why is it that I go hungry in a sustem that was designed to have overabundance?

Unemployment is hell, I started applying 6 months ago when I was first let go.
I have still not recieved my first payment from them.
They have every incentive to not give you a dime, they hold you on the line for hours, they hang up, they pretend to leave and say their phone is disconnecting, they pretend to send you things and then they do not untill you give them an angry call, they sign you up for the thing that takes the longest time by default and will keep reverting you to that plan without notice.
I would HAPPILY do ALMOST ANY JOB over having to deal with the unemployement office

I have had roomates that are the type of guys you posters envy, bar goers, one night stand dudes, long term relationship dudes, guys that throw drug parties...
They are just as miserable as I am, if not more. All their exploits amount to cheap escapism, arguably worse than playing games all day because they end up with stds, cough like 60 year olds, and lose their hearing.

I personally think the people this system is aimed at is primarily
1) nepotism
2) Brown nosers
3) People who do not say no
Some of the guys I talk to who "made it" complain about how their job asks them to do the worst shit imaginable, but they know it is either that or falling back down.

Lower your job standards, no shame in doing retail or burgers for a couple of months to make ends meet.

Knew guys who the military saved from the streets (in exchange for deep mental scars) but I was not able to pull that off despite being fit.
I am strong and capable but I am asked to dance and beg for my food...
Tried asking if I can help out in a VA center but despite befriending all of the vets in there I met, the application online was sterile and treated me as a number. I did not get in.

I've been mainly just living my day to day. Not much to really talk about.
recently been doing some prep for a job on my car. I have to replace the PCV system. Not an esoteric job, but definitely not easy. I have to take off the turbo pipe, air box, vacuum hoses and the whole damn intake manifold to get at it. But what I am most worried about are the hoses, my car is 20+ years old and all of them stiff, brittle, and prime to break.

Not at all! It means you have empathy, and I guess you might feel guilty. That being said it's probably not your fault you can't find a job in this market, and I don't want you to end up on the street if you don't have to! It's pretty hard to get out of that state once you are there I think!
