60-70 percent of your job satisfaction comes from how well you get on with the people working there. I have worked in an office which was good because I had friends there and I was able to listen to podcasts etc while I was working, though slightly boring. Still had hobbies outside of work like athletics, electronics, tried surfing, etc.

Used to work in a kitchen and that was pretty rough in comparison because it was physically uncomfortable and you couldnt talk much. I also worked in a warehouse where I could be working at night one night, then working early morning, then back to night shifts again in the same week. Aside from that, even though it was more physically demanding, I had a better time because of the people there.

And of course the main reason why we work jobs is the money. Having lots of money is great fun. When the Valve Index came out I just straight up bought one and it was a blast. I could pick up new hobbies when I wanted because the barrier for entry was taken away. I play the guitar now because I could pay for the instrument and lessons. I have a project car too for instance. Neeting is a permanent flatline - you dont get the negatives of a job but you don't get the positives either. I'm starting a job in september and I can't wait.
