They are all currently in an absolute bloodbath with little chance of recovery and basically require you to be 130+ IQ and a slave to be able to compete with what they require. Between AI and offshoring and immigration, they are getting squeezed so hard that many people are leaving the field, let alone new graduates. They demand experience, projects and certs, and studying at least 50% of your off time to advance.

They are all F tier unless you started in your early teens, then they're a C tier.

Every single field is F tier, there are no good majors because you are competing with 100000 indians who are willing to turn themselves into slaves and work 18 hours a day for every single job.

At this point might as well just major in whatever you're interested in

I mean your job prospects are probably comparable to someone with a philosophy degree imho. Putting it in F tier is just seething overkill. You still took all those math classes and shit to get that degree. It doesn't count for much but it's still something.

Philosophy and math are S tier, it's the closest thing to a real education a university can offer. Psychology is beyond trash, it's just a gimped version of statistics.

Math major that graduated in 2019. Got lucky to get a developer job pre pandemic. I think the placement is right, math is a fun and rigorous major and it kind of implies a level of knowledge and STEM aptitude to normies (even now). Post covid though, these new graduates are fucked.

If you are in college majoring in computer science cause you thought it was a meal ticket you're gonna be utterly buttfucked when you graduate

No, philosophy and history majors unironically have a better job market than college grads trying to get into tech. It's even worse than the other poster described because companies since Covid have adopted a policy of not hiring junior devs. If you didn't graduate top of your class from an elite university you have almost no chance of even securing an internship at any company paying a decent salary. They're hiring senior devs for "entry level" positions now, and have been for the last 3 years.

Junior devs are shafted hard.

Nah. Major companies are just barely giving their employees subscriptions to cursor. We just got ours, makes it a lot easier to write simple stuff but you can't expect it to not make dog shit code half the time with larger instructions.

Move math to f tier
t.math graduate
The only thing which matters during your degree are the work placements. That is it. Look at all the S tier degrees and see what they have in common: direct placements and a path to work.
All the memes about
>duerr this is a """good""" degree becua smart people do it
Are useless fart huffing crap from people who aren't looking to employ anyone. Do a degree in something people want to hire. Do placements and impress your supervisor so they hire you once you graduate. If the degree has no placement then it is a bad degree and you are doing it out of vanity.

Look on linkedin for the jobs you want and look at what they ask for. Or look at what is mentioned most often and skewed towards the higher paying ones.
