How many pushups can you do? Thinking of implementing 100 pushups every other day. Let's get strong together anon!

whats weirder to me is that im pretty good at pullups whereas i know people clearly stronger than me that struggle to do even a couple

some years ago I was able to do almost 100 in 2 minutes, back when I was in the military.
My pushup training was:
Normal pushups
Diamond pushups
Wide grip pushup
3 times a day, every other day. Set a realistic number you can achieve on all sets, and then increase it by 1 or 2 every other day. In a month you can massively boost your pushup count. But.. it has little to no effect on your aesthetic, atleast in my case

Pushups are one of the most pointless exercises out there.
They literally don't do anything aside from letting you do more pushups.
I once spent a summer doing one of those "road to 100 pushups" programs hoping it would give me a bigger/more defined chest.
By the end of summer i had progressed from only being able to do 20, to over a hundred in a row, yet neither my chest nor any other part of my body had visually improved at all.
I wasn't even fat, just skinny and lanky, having recently started doing more exercise.
I was normal bmi, eating well, supplementing protein and even posted a form check to /fit/ a couple of weeks in.
Yet it was all a total waste of time. Zero real results.

To answer OPs question - idk, probably back down to 20-30, haven't done a pushup in years.
I weigh 85kg so I can do 30 low push ups with good form in a row
I cant do a pull up yet unassisted either
You have to have a shitload of strength at this weight apparently
Im still on 50kg lats so I guess I wont be pulling up til I can do at least 70

I don't do push-ups but I'm getting close to a 2pl8 bench press. Right now I can do 180 pounds for reps
