>>81691428I've stated it in previous threads but I don't really subscribe to racist thinking, I don't think a genuine, actual racist person could be a teacher.
The biggest deciding factor in student success is family dynamic/family structure. Stable, two parent households produce better learners with higher success outcomes later in life. It's a definable fact we can point at with decades of evidence at this point. If a race happens to find themselves predisposition to certain household dynamics then that's beyond my paygrade to notice or care about.
>>81691437I love my job, I genuinely can't see myself doing anything else. This year I was elected to be the union president so as a result I'll only teach half the day while doing president stuff for the remaining half, I may resign if I find it impacts my ability to make connections & form strong bonds with my students. I wouldn't trade it for the world.
I think it would be a chill job for autistic robots. I myself am autistic and thrive in a routine oriented, rules driven environment.
>>81691449Do you think it's only because you're fat? As a receptionist I don't even know what access you would have to students other than signing them in or out of school, taking parent phone calls, ect. I dress well and people find me funny, that's about all I can offer. Listen to more comedy albums than you do music albums and begin the slow, laborious journey of becoming a funny person.
Lose the weight, have prominent pictures of your pets, get a special interest that the youth care about, I don't really know how to scale being likeable to a receptionist role. Sorry.
