it makes me sad that japan will probably become "multicultural" due to birthrates causing a declining gdp
it makes me wanna not bother learning japanese

i don't think they're going to really become multicultural. They're on the way to begin, but that'll probably get stomped out before long. I know I'm still going to learn japanese because i think it's cool and i think they're cool. either way never forget... picrelated

most places already seem kind of messed up by cultural instability and their weird economies that become dystopias or immigrant farms
>>81693810
i will miss it a lot if it does get replaced by like muslim halal things and indians

If it does go that way, 100 years down the line those muslims and indians will be replaced by another culture, it never stops you know?

>messed up by cultural instability and their weird economies that become dystopias or immigrant farms
capitalist production bro
>private ownership of industries implies competition, and therefore unplanned production
>unplanned production leads to "over"production
>under capitalism things can only be consumed if they're sold at a profit - profits dry up with superabundance, so industry is dragged to a halt
>general poverty and destitution until surplus products are destroyed or sold off, then cycle begins anew
>two ways of staving off this law is to destroy produce, or expand the market
>this leads to imperialism, where excess capital was exported into colonial possessions for investment, at huge cost to colonised peoples
>development of industry in colonies leads to national liberation movements, threatening capitalist imperialism
>imperialist countries switch tactics to neocolonialism, where exploited countries are nominally independent, but are economically subordinated to imperial interests (similar to how we have a "representative democracy", but all the candidates are chosen by corporate think-tanks)
>profits from this enterprise start to also dry up, imperial countries start cutting into domestic spending
>domestic population can no longer afford to have children, so new workers must be brought in through immigration

kyoto is probably my favourite place but not the main part and certainly not gion
if you know much about japan then you should have a good idea - i did before i ever visited but a few things surprised me
>japs were friendlier than i expected
they would strike up conversations with me regularly
some are absolutely hostile but mostly old people and i would say more were very open than were unpleasant
>it is cheap
then yen is worth nothing
>there was a lot more jinglish than i expected
and i do not like to see or hear it

idk what to tell you really since idk what you think japan would be like
i've spent a good amount of time there so it isn't like my opinion is baseless
kyoto has a lot of tourists but also a lot of japanese tourists and there are still parts where you see zero foreigners
heck this one girl was all panicked trying to deal with me even though i spoke enough japanese that she didn't need to use english, she was really cute
