You don't have to go that brutally into debt for a decent job, if you can become an electrician or a plumber you can actually make really decent money within 10 years of starting if you try to learn as much as you can. Here's some facts about my country:
Massive number of companies have outsourced their production to China, gone bankrupt or merged with larger ones so there are less jobs available. The ones still here run on ever aging machinery and it's clear they won't be around after their current stock of near-retirement workers are gone. Small businesses are struggling due to decreased household wealth and heavy operating costs. Gov. debt exploded during covid and is unmanageable.
Cost of living vs. wages has gone up due to ever-increasing taxes and retirement costs due to skewed pop. pyramid. Birthrate keeps plummeting, immigrants refuse to learn the language, are largely unemployed and funnel their generous benefits back to their home countries. PISA scores crash and burn, cuts on education continue.
Houses are way more expensive despite being old and requiring costly renovations. Expiring rent agreements on city properties are raised to 6-7 times higher then what they were for decades.
We're past the peak and heading towards rock bottom unless a miracle happens.
