japanese looks like such an interesting language, it's a shame that it's so chaotic and unintuitive once you dig deeper
why can't japs fix their language? it's not like language reforms aren't a thing

the interesting part of japanese for me was always the complicated nature of its writing system, kanji specifically is why i even bothered learning jap in the first place and i think its good that it filters dumbasses (even though its not even the biggest filter)

kanji makes japanese easier to read for learners anyway, the real hard part of japanese (from a westoid perspective) is the totally alien grammar and sentence structure, no amount of reforming the writing system will make that easier for a westoid to learn, to put it simply there's just no easy way to learn japanese regardless of how you go about it

if you find the scripts are filtering you then jap was never meant for you in the first place desu

nah, some managed to learn japanese just through anime, japanese is a language like any other, sure it's harder to learn for europeans but it's not impossible also some people have a greater affinity for language learning than others
there's even one example on youtube and he claims that he learned japanese through anime alone and that japs mistake him for a native if they don't actually see that he's a gaijin
