In my opinion drug dont fried your brain, only change how it work, for example stimulants addicts then to have a desregulation of dopamine receptors is like they work less, the thing that kill neurons are seizures because your brain suffer a massive electric discharge plus you bang your head.

Yeah take a lot, and i mean a lot of time and tappering of you drug of choose, you just can't stop the day after if you are a junkie, your brain just can take the fact that you arent receiving your dose, is like not eating or sleep beacause your brain think that doing drugs is crucial for your well being and survival
