His fake Ted talk is very funny, some of the iDubbbz documentary was pretty funny. Everything else I've seen from him is incredibly unfunny.
He clearly sees himself as a profound thinker/self-help guru, but he just isn't smart at all. Incredibly bland generic advice and political "analysis" you could gleen from a 2-3 /pol/ bot posts.

He's certainly polarizing. I think part of his enduring interest is that people can't tell whether he believes the stuff he says. Everyone has a theory, but none of them quite ring true.

He's pretty funny but he's also an exercise in naivety.
Sometimes you must try a bit hard to guess whether he's joking or being serious, but as he said in the idubz interview if he was clear about it every time, it'd just come off as condescending.
I think either he or someone else mentioned that those who watch him generally tend to focus on the stuff they agree with, and write off the stuff they don't as jokes, and vice versa with people on the opposite side of the spectrum. And pretty much everything he says can be interpreted either way.
